When you come into office, you want to put your mark on things...you want to be able to spend. And what has crippled the Obama Administration is the financial crisis, and it's prevented him (Obama) from doing any new spending.

It appears how much new spending one accomplishes is the mark of success...what a sad mentality to maintain....of course omitting the blatant issue of how much spending has already increased under our current President.

I think his point was, like how Regan wanted to build his star wars thing, JFK the moon, you want to do something to build a legacy...Build the Interstate highway system? ...Obama has spent..but its been money trying to patch holes in a econ that was leaking all over and trying to keep the dam from breaking...Even Health care was trying to fix the broken system...and to lower costs overall long term...( insert what ever CBO report you want here,...showing higher or lower costs...)

But there is not the money to do something really impactful. ( that is now a word)

regardless...its Baldwin...so eh...he is just a celeb, not like he is making policy.

well Clinton was as close to that as we have had...and yet somehow the republicans found a way to make him into just short of the devil himself ...After all he had a BJ , and you know of course he killed Vince Foster and him and Hillary killed a bunch of others as well right?

Also if you want balanced budgets and Debt reduction..ok...when the republicans figure out that that may actually mean raising taxes, compromise, and also not making claims things are about debt reduction when realy they are about attacking people they don't like and people who vote more likey Dem.

Also its a very telling thing I think ...that Debt is only a issue....when Republicans don't hold the white house.

I can remember the news media having a fit when Bush had $200 billion budget deficits, with tax cuts in place and two wars to finance. Obama has $1.5 trillion dollar budget deficits, and the leftist media is as quiet as a church mouse.

Obama's idea of "economic stimulus" is for the federal government to "create" jobs out of thin air, buy our "clunkers", buy bad mortgages, bail out numerous corporations and financial entities, give the Federal Reserve carte blanche to do whatever they want, including 24/7 printing of money and buying treasury bonds, and drive us into irreversible debt.

Great plan, Barry. You make Bush look like a genius, and that is something I never thought anybody could do.

there are times I wish Bush had a extra year in office...he got lucky and got to bail as everything hit the fan...and you guys get to cry about how we had to fix it. When Unemployment is dropping like a rock, the houseing market is in shambles, the banks are not making loans and just being bailed out, and the auto industry is about to collapse...You know what happens if you do nothing about it? the Debt skyrockets...because you are not brining in anything anymore...And How much less debt would we have today if Bush 1 never did his huge tax cuts that did nothing to help the econ...or 2 paid for them at least?

When the people are not spending, the banks are not loaning, the businesses are laying off and not spending...a good way to kick start the econ is not....lay off workers and cut spending as well....No one spending means econ sucks.
