On President Trump's Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) To Resolve The Iran War I know it was being extensively panned even by many Republicans and I hoped after reading it I would be able to offer significant support for it considering that President Trump had an incredibly hard negotiation involved and he likely did the best a President could do under the circumstances because it was an incredibly tough negotiation because with the Strait of Hormuz closed down the world was weeks away from a supply energy shortage that would send energy prices into a serious recession level so the Strait had to be reopened quickly and President Trump understandably wanted to get something meaningful out of the war such as a commitment by Iran that they would never possess a nuclear weapon. Even trying to find ways to support the MOU deal it would have been better for the United States "to not have made this deal" lets focus on President Trump's big goal for the deal he wanted Iran to commit to never possessing a nuclear bomb, Point 8 in the MOU addresses this subject where it says "The Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirms that it shall not procure or develop nuclear weapons." so this MOU doesn't add any duties or commitments on the government of Iran focusing on the operable word 'reaffirms' and consider the text of this phrase it refers to the present it does not place a commitment on Iran to never procure or develop a nuclear weapon so President Trump's major justification for the war isn't reached! Secondly, the other big goal of the negotiations was to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic where there would be no tolls and no registration or checking paperwork of transiting ships and what do we got in this MOA, Item 5 in the MOU the Government of Iran is only committing to not charge tolls for sixty days and it raises an issue that transiting the Strait might not be like it was pre-war with the Iran government imposing regulatory obligations on transiting ships referencing the end of Item 5 where it says "The Islamic Republic of Iran will conduct dialog with the Sultanate of Oman to define the future administration and maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz in discussion with other Persian Gulf littoral states in line with the applicable international law and the sovereign rights of coastal states of the Strait of Hormuz."; I find that very concerning that this clause did not stop with the phrase 'applicable international law' but added the consideration of "the sovereign rights of coastal states".

The Trump administration really lacked wisdom here as mentioned the critical crisis was to reopen the Strait of Hormuz the Trump administration should have taken the nuclear weapon issue off the table and just focused on reopening the Strait and offered the deal we'll drop the blockade you commit to reopen the Strait like it was pre-war no tolls and no paperwork checks if they didn't accept that then implement the deal with America's military power, split the Strait in half with buoys ban Iran military from the Oman side and run maritime traffic through the Oman side and create a U.S. paid for insurance pool to cover ship loss from mines and missiles to entice transit and for every ship Iran sinks or damages, America would sink two of Iran's ships or ships using Iranian ports this would if not immediately would eventually work; leave any nuclear deal negotiations to many months later.

This MOU deal reveals a glaring, alarming and unbelievable shortcoming of President Donald J Trump President Trump doesn't have a commitment to the truth he thinks he can ignore the truth and try to make-up truths whenever he wishes and you can't people cannot deal with you and you cannot function in this world without a commitment to abide by the truth. President Trump arguably made all these bad commitments for America in this MOA they ware really bad because it gives Iran the financial resources to build up its missile program and other defenses and military capacity if one goes really lawyerlike one can claim that the issues are ambiguous and more complicated that what appears on the face of things but good people would never had made this deal and put themselves in this position. Item 10 and Item 11 in the MOA reference that Iran will be getting financial relief and Item 11 specifically says funds will be released to Iran during negotiations! What the hell was the Trump administration doing agreeing to a $300 billion dollar reconstruction and economic development fund for Iran, America doesn't have that kind of money available for such spending this is another point that highlights President Trump's problem with truth in his mind he was probably agreeing to this commitment planning to never follow through and you can't do that maybe a cheater developer can in dealing with a subcontractor but not a President of the United States when you say your making a commitment as a President you are actually making a commitment!

President Trump is supposed to be this great negotiator he wrote a book on this subject; this MOU deal was an outstandingly bad deal it will go down in history as shockingly and incredibly bad deal. At this juncture the American government should try to follow through and negotiate a nuclear deal but I am like most people that don't think one can be negotiated in sixty-days. After this clock runs out the Trump administration should just implement what was previously outlined as an off-ramp to the Iranian war, that is, offer to go back to the way things were on the Strait of Hormuz pre-war with no blockade of Iranian ports and If Iran doesn't agree just implement it with America's military and financial power!

One last point with this Iranian war and also President Trump's behavior of late President Donald Trump is showing that he is alarmingly unfit to be President of the United States. He chronically lies, his disregard for the truth makes it extremely difficult for people to work with him and he is so thin skinned he cannot tolerate criticism like a normal person, his sense of reality is troublingly depraved he doesn't understand the limits on his power as President that a mentally grounded person would see and he is unable to see or appreciate perspectives which a mentally together person would readily see. At the recent G7 meeting when he said that the "Prime Minister of Italy, Giorigia Meloni, was desperate to have her picture taken with me"; Trump with a reputation where he physically disrespects women and Prime Minister Meloni being a beautiful women and it was so predictable that it would cause a diplomatic incident between our countries and now the Italian government had to postpone an upcoming trip to the U.S.! President Trump is really off his hinges and is unfit for office; his temporary appointing this building Executive Mr. Pulte as head of America's intelligence service the guy having no experience in intelligence and giving him marching orders to take a meat cleaver to the staff (if Mr. Pulte has any kind of brains at all he won't be gutting or significantly hurting American intelligence defenses and system - he will face payback); Trump won't sign the reauthorization of the Foreign Intelligence Act if Congress doesn't pass the SAVE Act which to name one impediment to passage of this bill if enacted into law it will disenfranchise tens if not hundreds of thousands of Americans because it requires a photo Identification to vote at polling stations which they don't possess! Seriously, Republicans that hold office confidentially have to tell President Trump it is time to resign and tell him after the mid-terms Republican members of Congress are going to go public that he isn't emotionally, mentally and psychologically fit to fulfill the duties of the Office of the President of the United States and he must resign!
