Oh, an optimist!  Let me say I hope you're right.




Yes, along with new senators and representatives who never have been relevant.





Correct, and yet we have partisans on both sides who seem to think that "their" party has the answers and the other party is wrong.




But that would require the average voter to pay attention to what is really going on in Washington.


What are the odds of that?




Absolutely.




Well said.  It doesn't matter which party is in power, what matters is that the voters take power into their own hands. 


My cynicism says that won't happen, that voters will continue to base their votes on party loyalty and TV ads. 


I hope I'm wrong, but my cynicism turns out to be right most of the time.




Maybe.  I'm betting against it, but maybe.




For the latter reason, of course.




What the American people want are good jobs and security.  Even the issues of the war, health care, deficit spending, and illegal immigration take a backseat to that one.




Good for you.  Maybe you can prove me wrong, vote in new blood, and actually get this nation back on course.
