1. .....Biden also told European allies the alliance's mutual defence pact was a "sacred obligation" for the United States - a marked shift in tone from his predecessor Trump, who had threatened to withdraw from the alliance and accused Europeans of contributing too little to their own defence.

"I want all Europe to know that the United States is there," said Biden. "NATO is critically important to us."....

2. At NATO, Biden said defence of Europe a "sacred obligation". NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, NATO leaders and Ukrainians should ask the guy (who was vice president under Obama) where he was hiding when Russia annexed Crimea on 18 March 2014. During the election campaign in 2020, the self-declared "Messiah" ex-president claimed that the guy was hiding in a basement to avoid election debates.

Like all other US politicians, the guy spouted so much pretentious nonsense that his saliva droplets were flying all over the place (as in a Cantonese slang 口水花乱飞).

3. Despite the claim of "sacred obligation" by the US "MCC King" (矇查查 MCC or "mong cha cha", a Hong Kong slang for "muddle-headed") to defend Europe, it was ironical that the US had regarded Europe as its most deadly enemy for about 138 years (1776 to 1914).

Don't believe? Just look at the Monroe Doctrine which was a US policy that opposed European colonialism in the Americas. It argued that any intervention in the politics of the Americas by European powers was a potentially hostile act against the US.

The Monroe Doctrine was issued on December 2, 1823, at a time when nearly all Latin American colonies of Spain had achieved, or were at the point of gaining, independence from the Spanish Empire. It stated that further efforts by various European states to take control of any independent state in the Americas would be viewed as "the manifestation of an unfriendly disposition toward the United States."

4. The War of 1812 and the burning of Washington DC and the White House in 1814 definitely had a psychological impact on newly-independent America.

It certainly filled the minds of the colonists with a series of "what if?" What if the redcoats returned to claim back the British colonies in North America? What if the redcoats returned to burn the White House again? What if other European powers, taking advantage of the British absence, tried to invade newly-independent America?

At that time, the US army was no match for the British and other European powers. Hence it was necessary to give every colonist a gun to turn the whole population into a giant army to ward off any potential attack from a European power. If the British or other European invaders dared to venture deep into the American hinterland, they would be bogged down in a guerrilla war.

This was the only time when the gun really found a noble use, that is, to let every citizen help to defend the country until the US army is strong enough to stand up against the British or other European armies.

Hence the right to buy and carry a gun has bought valuable time for America not only to keep its independence but also to become a superpower. Except for this noble deed, the gun has been used for such evil deeds as the genocide of Red Indians, the control and killing of African Americans and other ethnic minorities.

After helping to preserve America's independence for about 138 years from British and other European invasions, America has to give the devil his due as the gun ownership has become the root cause of the country's gun violence epidemic and "gunocide". :)

Those Indians wanted the gun and killed themselves more then colonists did. Hell, Europe was selling to them directly.
