I don't think it was patriotism that motivated Clinton to burn his draft card and flee to Europe to participate in anti-American flag burning protests.

if you think your country is wrong protesting its actions is patriotism *****. And there is a strong argument the us involvement in vietnam was, in fact, wrong.

I volunteered to fight in Vietnam but would not likely have done so had I not received a low draft number. Millions of men avoided the war for various reasons. I don't assume all those who did not go had inexcusable wicked motives.
