Cost of wind versus natural gas power

I'm for any energy source to compete in the market place. My favorite energy sources are hydro and geo thermal. Wind turbines are ugly, noisy and disrupt the ecosystem.

If rich people want to invest more in wind energy have at it.

We are not like most of Europe. We have tremendous fossil fuel reserves and should use those as well.

We cause global warming when we burn fossil fuels. That causes respiratory illness and results in a need to use even MORE fossil fuels to stay cool in the summer.

The first thing we need to do is to cap wells leaking methane into the atmosphere. Big oil caused this problem and should be taxed to solve it.

The opposition to sustainable energy is Big Oil, Big Coal and Big Gas. Shitshizpants will cause more climate change because all these are bribing him. Oil company execs only care about their short term profits, and are willing to poison future generations to make a buck.

Actually the first thing you ne3ed to do is cut down on the amount of people . so you dont like the fact that oil company's make a profit or ng and coal.

You seem to think they make to big a profit but what about these ? are they not making a big profit. seems you only care abut certain things

Everything you say has been wrong for decades.

There is no correlation between reliance on fossil fuels and air quality. The most polluted places on earth are under developed countries with a low carbon footprint.

You are clueless regarding the methane problem. Methane is a problem with abandoned and unused wells that have not been capped properly. That is not caused by so called "big oil".

Of COURSE methane escaping from poorly maintained oil wells are the responsibility of Big Oil and Big Gas. They are the ones that drilled them or refined the oil from them. Without oil companies, they would not exist. The government should foce big oil to cap those wells.

YOu are one of the most utterly ignorant people on this forum. Burning petroleum products clearly causes pollution and many respiratory diseases.

there are experts in this field and the deniers would do well to actually read the science

"A renowned climate scientist shows how fossil fuel companies have waged a thirty-year campaign to deflect blame and responsibility and delay action on climate change, and offers a battle plan for how we can save the planet.

Recycle. Fly less. Eat less meat. These are some of the ways that we've been told can slow climate change. But the inordinate emphasis on individual behavior is the result of a marketing campaign that has succeeded in placing the responsibility for fixing climate change squarely on the shoulders of individuals.

Fossil fuel companies have followed the example of other industries deflecting blame (think "guns don't kill people, people kill people") or greenwashing (think of the beverage industry's "Crying Indian" commercials of the 1970s). Meanwhile, they've blocked efforts to regulate or price carbon emissions, run PR campaigns aimed at discrediting viable alternatives, and have abdicated their responsibility in fixing the problem they've created. The result has been disastrous for our planet.

In The New Climate War, Mann argues that all is not lost. He draws the battle lines between the people and the polluters-fossil fuel companies, right-wing plutocrats, and petrostates. And he outlines a plan for forcing our governments and corporations to wake up and make real change, including:
  • A common-sense, attainable approach to carbon pricing- and a revision of the well-intentioned but flawed currently proposed version of the Green New Deal;
  • Allowing renewable energy to compete fairly against fossil fuels
  • Debunking the false narratives and arguments that have worked their way into the climate debate and driven a wedge between even those who support climate change solutions
  • Combatting climate doomism and despair-mongering
With immensely powerful vested interests aligned in defense of the fossil fuel status quo, the societal tipping point won't happen without the active participation of citizens everywhere aiding in the collective push forward. This book will reach, inform, and enable citizens everywhere to join this battle for our planet.

NO ONE advocated putting diapers on cows, dolt!

Are you a vegan? You must be if you are so concerned about methane. 70% of methane production is not from fossil fuel extraction.

https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/4799

About 30% of methane emissions are produced by wetlands, including ponds, lakes and rivers. Another 20% is produced by agriculture, due to a combination of livestock, waste management and rice cultivation. Activities related to oil, gas, and coal extraction release an additional 30%.

Should we outlaw wetlands, ponds lakes and rivers?

Should we ban rice?

You tards are so easy.

Again run the numbers on methane which supposedly causes 23% of global warming.

70% of methane has nothing to do with fossil fuels. If the entire world became vegans and stopped eating rice we can cut methane in half. You think that would matter? Tell the people in Asia where 59% of people on this earth live that they need to stop eating meat, dairy and rice.

This is all bullshit and nonsense! 30% of methane is caused by natural bodies of water!
