God is the Judge and He alone executes vengeance. Christians seek to lead sinners to Jesus, not kill them and send them to hell.

You miss the significance of "reign." Jesus was promising that he would rule over Israel and drive the Romans out of there. More proof of what his congregation thought he was all about was the "Jesus Christ, King of the Jews" (INRI) affixed to the cross.
