Dreaming of Russia (the impending conflict?)

I have reason to believe that we will have some sort of conflict with Russia in their Kaliningrad outpost on or near Thursday March 19, 2009. They are frustrated with American aggression and see us as weak right now financially. In my dream they had legitimate beefs with us, but also they refused to see their own motivations as jealousy of American wealth (the ruling-class russians did) vs Russian financial struggling....as a petty agenda that wasn't truly born of defense of their home country totally. A backlash if you will.

Of course, the conflict's roots are in oil, the control of oil, the grasping of oil...

I would advise sitting down at the table with Russia and apologizing first for the Bush administration's impingement on the Middle East. Then I would advise coming to the table with a very detailed plan to withdraw not only troops from the Middle East, but our overuse and dependance on the oil there. The russians are right, we are demanding more than our fair share of that pie on the playground. If we demonstrated we could withdraw our need for so much, conflict will be avoided.

Also, we must demonstrate to them and the world that we will hold BushCo culpable. It's as if their egos need this to feel vindicated for the wrongs perpetuated by the outgoing administration. I think if we do those two things: come to the table with alternative energy plan showing strategic "straw-withdrawel"..lol.. from Middle East reserves of crude, as well as strategic troop withdrawel and an across-the-table disarming of missiles on both sides of the border of Poland, AND the prosecution of those culpable in the Bush Administration, we will see a restoration of our world standing and the propogation of peace.

Otherwise, put on your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Actually this came to me in the form a four-hour dream I had last night. The damn thing kept coming back even after I woke up and rolled over to sleep again. It was unnerving.

But the weird thing was that in that dream I was sure I was in Moscow or St. Petersburg talking with Putin. Instead a soldier laughed and told me we were on the border of Poland. I woke up laughing myself, certain that Russia no longer shares a border with Poland. Then on my little globe I found teeny tiny Kalinigrad, a russian outpost on the border with Poland!

I also laughed thinking that there's no "Thursday the 19th" this month, it's Thursday the 20th...then I remembered that in my dream their was light snow on the ground everywhere, melting and several bushes were newly blooming bright pink flowers; between patches of melting snow was new green grass. I looked at an online calendar for 2009 and found that March has a Thursday the 19th...and that is in fact early Spring!

Jeezus...it gives me the creeps just thinking about it... I kept checking the clock...2:00AM...still dreaming it...3:30 AM...roll over...wake up again 4:45...from the same dream...on and on...

I think I need some melatonin or something?

No worries ObamaCo. will bend to the will of Putin in just about anything he wants. Russia will have no reason to worry about American after Jan 20th 2008. And since ObamaCo. hates BigOil as much as you do he wont try to make sure the American people are able to get the oil we need to make our country workable. Russia will like that very much. ObamaCo. along with people like you will make Russia a very happy & strong country.

No. They weren't happy at all. In fact, many aspects of my dream indicated that even though the citizen's basic needs were being seen to and for the most part, aside from ruling-class dipping, the wealth was spread fairly well..they existed in a state of mild-paranoia and their freedoms of expression were clamped.

No. Socialist Russia isn't the answer to governing. They need to loosen the reins on capitalism as much as we need to tighten them. I've always said a compromise is in order.

The dream didn't indicate that Obama should lie down and take it up the kiester. In fact it indicated his people should be strong at the bargaining table. It's just that those concessions I mentioned were ones that were critical to ensure success. I'm wholly against handing over the US to the Russians! I thought that would be implicitly clear, but since the GOP moles here always pigeonhole free-thinking democrats as "commies"...I guess I had to make that clearer...

so this is a dream you had? I mean at night you slept and had a dream? or was this a day dream? I did not catch that till the second post.

either way no worries for Mother Russia, they will be fine. they are very strong. Most important is the people in Russia are not devided half on the side for what is good for the world and half on the side of what is good for Russia. They are pretty smart people that know they must take care for their own country becuase no one else will if they dont.

Bullseye - you nailed it. :)

There is NO REASON for anybody to get in conflict with the US after the accession of the Bot King. He'll be a doormat for anybody, CERTAINLY an able intelligent leader like Putin, and he's going to hollow out the US military - just like clinton did, just like carter did.

We are supposed to revamp national policy based on a dream?

If that is the strategy you are wishing to employ (one caving to every Russian demand ever) we mind as well simply pull out Europe and Asia and go home, because our days as a superpower are over if that is how we react to a threat globally.

See Sil, all will be fine. We will be weak and Mother Russia will be strong and you will be happy :)
