Another reason to not spend every penny is retirement. Most retired people can't live on social security, or get a public paid retirement check. They have to save and/or invest inorder to have enough to live on (spend) in their golden years, and in most cases that takes years to accumulate. This is also where those "evil" corporations come in who pay out dividends to their shareholders.

When Obama ran in to take over the auto industry and give it to his union buddies, who got hurt the most? The shareholders, people who had invested their money for retirement purposes. A lot of people where wiped out.

No . . . I'm saying that "A greedy man is one who collects more than he can consume by consuming what others have produced."
