LOTS of people were annoyed by monuments of slaveholder Confederate soldiers. Of course, they didn't tell you that, why would they?

Slavery is not something that our country should be proud of.
The Freedmens' Bureau should have remained in the South until the Klan was eliminated and Black people were given the vote and equality.

Allowing the monuments to past American heroes whether connected to slavery or not is normal, which is why some of the monuments remained unchallenged for decades. The looters, arsonists, cop killers, violent black racists, and statue topplers did not rise to prominence until the first black president was elected.
