German municipalities face ruin

That certainly does not surprise some of us. The indoctrination centers (p-schools and university system) have been hard at work for decades now pushing their beloved socialism.

It is amazing that our nation is NOT entirely socialist by now, when you consider how all of us have been subject to a heavy dose of socialist indoctrination.

A recent survey conducted earlier this month by the Harris Interactive polling firm on behalf of the Bill of Rights Institute reveals some startling results. According to the survey, 42 percent of the over 2,000 respondents believe that Karl Marx’s maxim, “from each according to his ability and to each according to his need [or needs]” is part of one of our nation’s founding documents. Further, nearly 20 percent assigned it to the Bill of Rights. When the survey results are fragmented according to age, we find that 30 percent of young adults misidentified Marx’s statement as something written in either the Federalist Papers, the Declaration of Independence, or the Constitution.
The particulars of the answers to the poll’s questions are equally disturbing. Over half of respondents named “education” as a right protected from government encroachment by the First Amendment. Furthermore, not even 20 percent could name the five rights actually guaranteed by that amendment (those rights, should any of our readers need a refresher are: freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, the right peaceably to assemble, and the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances).

I'd like to see the demographics of these respondents. o_O

You still don't understand my point... probably because you can't separate the concepts of political parties and economics so the concept of positive non-intervention didn't sink in. Do you understand the concept of separation of church and state? Same idea where economics is concerned, it's a separation of economy and state. The HK economy is the free-est in the world, so saying that the ChiCom gov allows the HK "market to operate to some extent" is an amazing understatement. The HK economy has MORE freedom than the Australian econ, and a LOT more freedom than the US.

So... On what basis do you claim the US has the Free-est economy, that it is a Capitalist nation?
What you mean by economic freedom is different to mine. To me Economics is separate from politics but is influence by the political party in power. Hong Kong has more freedom than Mainland China but both are influence the the Communist Party which is the government of both.

The USA has had Democratic and Republican parties in power. It has never had a Communist or Socialist party in power. Unlike most other countries it has few government enterprises beside the Post Office. Most mixed economy countries have government control of things like transport, Health and essential services.. Command economics have most businesses government owned.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with the Democrat Party here in the US but read the following on Social Democracy and compare it to the stated goals and legislative proposals from the Democrat Party:

Social democracy is a political ideology that considers itself to be a form of reformist democratic socialism.[1] Social democracy rejects the "either/or" polarization interpretation of capitalism versus socialism.[2] It claims that fostering a gradualist PROGRESSIVE evolution of capitalism will gradually result in the evolution of capitalist economy into socialist economy.[3] Social democracy argues that all citizens should be legally entitled to certain social rights. These are made up of universal access to public services such as: education, health care, workers' compensation, and other services including child care and care for the elderly.[4] Social democracy is connected with the trade union labour movement and supports collective bargaining rights for workers.[5] Contemporary social democracy advocates freedom from discrimination based on differences of: ability/disability, age, ethnicity, gender, language, race, religion, sexual orientation, and social class.[6] Most social democratic parties are affiliated with the Socialist International.[7]
Social democracy was originally developed by revisionist Marxist Eduard Bernstein who opposed orthodox Marxism's support of revolution and class conflict, claiming that socialism could be achieved through evolutionary means via representative democracy and cooperation between people regardless of class.[8] Bernstein accepted the Marxist analysis that the creation of socialism is interconnected with the evolution of capitalism.[9] Bernstein claimed that a mixed economy of public, cooperative and private enterprise would be necessary for a long period of time before private enterprises would evolve of their own accord into cooperative enterprise.[8][10] Bernstein supported state ownership only for certain parts of the economy that could be best managed by the state, and he rejected a mass scale of state ownership as being too burdensome to be manageable.[8]
The Democrat Party here in the US just refuses to admit they are, in any way, a Socialist party. The rank and file Democrats do not consider themselves Socialists but if you put forward the tenets of Social Democracy, without mentioning Socialism, and asked which political party you were describing... They would proudly declare that you were talking about the Democrat Party.

Now... You claimed something about the US being the most Capitalist country... I still want to know what measure you're using to make that claim. I gave you the measure for economic freedom, what standard are you using?
