Registered Democrat and unaffiliated voters in Maine are poised to make a big mistake in nominating Graham Platner as the Democrat Senate candidate in this year's Senate election because if he wins the general election and becomes Maine's Junior Senator he will have little credibility, Mainers will be sending a Senator to Maine that will essentially be politically neutered. He will have little leadership value; if Mainers are trying to send a representative to Washington that will bring universal health care, universal free child care and universal free college Graham Platner will be a weak advocate for such policies. He will be viewed by members of Congress and the American people as a whole as anti-Semitic, anti-rape victim and a person that disrespect veterans. I find it believable Graham's defense on his skull and cross bones tattoo from his military service that when he got it he did not know it had a Nazi reference it looks like a tattoo that a young soldier that wanted to be a "bad ass" would get; but that doesn't matter his public reputation will be that he had a tattoo for twenty years that Nazi SS guards that worked at the extermination camps used to get. Grahams comments that women rape victims are responsible for the their rape because they got extremely drunk is a text book no no in America's culture today. Graham's comments about veteran Chris Kyle who was a hero sniper that he indiscriminately shot civilians to juice his kill figures is shocking and alarming in essence he alleged the guy committed murder it is truly unbelievable and Graham's comments about veteran Teddy Daniels performance in a mission video that Teddy "didn't deserve to live" were disgraceful Mr. Daniel's actions that day were honorable and commendable no matter how you interpret Teddy repeatedly yelling he was shot ( I have no experience as a soldier but it seems to me perfectly legitimate such yelling because I would think you need to alert your fellow unit colleagues that you were hit so they could keep an eye on you to make sure things didn't turn dire for bullets do move in the human body if that bullet moved and tore an artery Mr. Daniel's could have lost his life and would have needed his unit colleagues to provide immediate appropriate first aid and expedite his evacuation to a hospital for surgery). Graham Platner is a unfixable politically toxic candidate!
Influential Senators appear on TV and advocate for policy; reputable media aren't going to want to give Graham such a platform because he has a reputation for disgraceful character. Those Senate and House members that are sworn-in come 2027 if they seek to do what is in the best interests of the American people they will impeach President Trump and fortunately the facts surrounding Trump support such action but the Congressional operatives conducting such an impeachment are going to have to have good character so that they can garnish public support for the action. Mr. Platner with his history of having serious lapses in character will be a liability in this process; plain and simple Graham Platner does not have the character to be a U.S. Senator at this time.
Frankly, part of the core of the problem is that Mr. Platner lacks integrity he lacks the integrity that a responsible person should have and especially a member of Congress should have; he is too much of an opportunist! During the campaign he once said he does not understand what him as a soldier being sent to Afghanistan and Iraq did for people of Maine; an honest person would acknowledge he was sent to Afghanistan so that they American people would not experience any more 9/11's, al Qaeda the terrorist group responsible for 9-11 wanted to kill more Americans and destroy America and in 2001 its leader Osama bin Laden was holed up in the mountains of Afghanistan. Graham spouts off that all America needs to do is have Congress pass universal health care; a knowledgeable truthful person knows that to implement that in America the American government is going to need to raise at least two trillion dollars that means everyone's taxes are going up that means a value added tax (a Federal sales tax) in America. Utilization of health care services is going to sky rocket most employer sponsored health insurance will cease to exist for almost everyone will go with the public health care system. Government officials will be forced to pay all health care providers Medicare rates meaning below cost meaning hospitals will go bankrupt and no one will want them so the government will own most of the hospitals which means a race to the bottom for health care quality in America. Graham is a dangerous left wing extremist ideologue I am all for responsible helping ordinary people but it has to be done with balanced judgment or a lot of harm will result!
Democrat and unaffiliated Mainers should voter for Janet Mills for Democrat candidate for Senate this year she may not be a firebrand populist but she will work hard to make measured progress and due to the nation's $39 trillion national debt that is the best that can be done! Janet Mills has a good reason to step back into the race with the new revelations of Grahams sexting problem over the last two years with women not his wife when he was newly married; you can bet that if Graham wins the Democrat nomination the media and Republicans are going to track down some of the dozen women Graham sexted and their stories will be aired extensively this makes Graham an extremely weak candidate Ms. Mills would be doing a great service to her state and the country if she reenters the race!
