The various holocausts over the years by the Mongols, the Tatars, the Germans in Namibia, the Turks in Armenia, the Nazis in Germany, the Tutsis in Rwanda and the Khmer Rouge are proof that "God" is not blessing anyone or doing anything at all to prevent genocide and cruelty.

The best anyone can say about the behavior of the Biblical character known as "God" is that he seems to be on an extended vacation for a couple of millennia.

Imagining what God must be like will not end well for those who refuse to devote any energy to actually finding out what He is like instead of just guessing.

Being as there is no proof that the Biblical character called "God" exists, it is useless to speculate about his motives. And when did "God" ever claim he was going to punish people for trying to find out his motives.
How would anyone find out "God"'s motives? How does a "god-fearing person" love God? You fundies are sooooooo utterly full of crap.

The Big Bang theory is far more probable than any tale involving talking snakes.

It is more likely that a certain amount of energy and material have always existed than some nonsense about an Eternal Being deciding one day to create an entire vast universe just so few humans would have something to look up to in the night sky.

Also, the Biblical character called "God" was not even aware that he could wipe out the human race with a virus, and instead decided to use a flood?

The probability of an eternal creator god is much less likely than an eternal quantity of matter and energy, and the probability that any eternal deity would be as cruel, dense and ignorant as the Biblical "God".
