Francis Crick, the DNA expert who won the Nobel prize for his studies in DNA concluded that the abiogenesis formation of original life on earth was impossible so then aliens on spaceships must have come and scattered biologic dust into the atmosphere which seeded original life on earth.
But he was not an expert on how life was created. And his research was certainly not the latest that we have.
Wat does the Bible say? It says that God created the plants and animals by just popping them into existence, out of nothing.
But the "God" character created Adam out of dust, and then created Eve out of Adam's rib.
The Earth started out as a ball of matter that grew as asteroids crashed into it. The atmosphere and crust of the Earth took many forms before its present one, and it is possible that a particular set of circumstances were necessary for the first proteins came into being and then one or more of them became capable of reproducing. This could have happened on Earth or life could have occurred elsewhere and was then brought by on asteroid, a comet or some other bit of space debris.
Crick died in 2004, a generation ago, so his research is not the best or the latest.
