I have a prediction about the demo convention.

Perhaps some of you recall 1968 when liberals went wild with anti war protests and riots.
Do you recall the 1968 dem convention where a riot broke out . I think it will happen again. The protesters in 1968 were not chanting things like death to America helped my Muslim radicals and student from other nation's.

The War in Vietnam was a horrible blunder. The war was unwinnable, MacNamara knew that a few minutes after he became Secretary of Defense.

Poor Hubert Humphrey was a nice guy and a very decent fellow. He would have been a far better president that Tricky Dicky. He was against the war but he did not want to denounce LBJ for sending so many troops off to risk their lives in an unwinnable war. I voted for Humphrey at the Embassy in Mexico City.

The plan by the War Party was to keep troops in Vietnam as they had done in Korea. After Kent State and Jackson State, it was clear to Nixon that he could not raise the number of troops that he needed to even hold South Vietnam. They were drafting illiterates from every hicktown in the South and it was not enough. So Nixon want for "Vietnamization". Which was doomed from the start.

The major thing that young people and others were demonstrating against was the draft. There is no draft now. No one is drafting Americans to kill Palestinians. There are no asshole politicians telling us how much we need to kill Palestinians.

no it was not unwinnable . They played politics with them and allowed them to build up air defenses' so all the soldiers were illiterates and from hick towns you say. By the way for a teacher with a phd calling others illiterates when you spelled hick town wrong .,
The elite rich and educated got a pass you know men like you .
While real men had to fight .
You could learn to support you nation which has been so good to your unapprenticed butt,.

Palestinians have been teaching little kids in their schools why they should hate Jews and want to murder them, even celebrating kids who blow themselves up trying to kill Jews.
