Todd,There is a thread for gun control debate... and it is more of a matter of having a constitutionally protected right than a necessity per say.And I think the ACLU is a bit too choosy considering they are supposedly protectors of ALL civil liberties, included in which is the right to bear arms. Where as the NRA was created specifically to deal with gun and rifle related issues, hence the name, National Rifle Association.
