I do believe they are far right crazy people. They have figured out that their vote suppressing tactics aren't working as well as they planned so they now hate democracy. The republicans in Washington state said so at their convention in Spokane this summer. They couldn't even agree on which candidate for governor to endorse so they didn't endorse anyone.

We aren't just a republic. We are a constitutional democratic republic. Words have meaning. I used the correct words.
