It is AMAZING how uninformed the majority of the American public is about US history! That's especially true of our indoctrinated and under-educated youth. Progressive Democrats argue that they're responsible for the 8-hour work day, child-labor laws, women's suffrage, and civil rights for blacks. They are liars. I wrote an article several years ago, explaining that terms like "liberal" and "conservative" are both time-sensitive and culture-sensitive. What was "liberal" in 1910 might well be considered "conservative" in 2013. Economics, however, is more a matter of intelligence and experience than one related to time and and culture. Regarding "economics" (and many other things), John F. Kennedy would be considered a conservative in today's political world!

JFK was a very intelligent man, and he understood economics. Conservatives today argue strongly for low personal and corporate taxes, and Democrats accuse us of loving the rich and hating the poor. Like we conservatives, JFK also argued for reductions in taxes, and he knew exactly WHY such a policy was best for ALL Americans. John F. Kennedy considered those who supported high taxes to be uninformed idiots. He uderstood that the justification for less taxation is overwhelming. He was interviewed by Huntley and Brinkley prior to passing his historic tax-cutting bill. In that interview he explained the concept better than most conservative politicians explain it today. The interview was fairly long, and included discussion of Vietnam as well. If you begin the linked video at the 6:55 minute point, you can view Kennedy's economic argument for yourself. http://blogs.app.com/politicspatrol...eybrinkley-give-jfk-a-second-shot-at-answers/

The D party has come a long way since JFK. Many in the D party are socialists and communists. Of course, anyone who states this FACT is called crazy or worse by the Left....just as McCarthy was roundly condemned for exposing the FACT that many commies existed in our government in his day.

Is there even ONE classical liberal D in Congress today? There are only a hand full in the R party, for that matter.

The MSM likes to condemn the R party for going radical right (if only it were true), but they never expose the Ds for their major move into leftism.

I just now went to the link to watch it, but it has been pulled due to copy write infringement. Do you know if another site where I can get it? I searched, but got nothing.

These is a statement made on the site, which I dispute. It states...

Chet Huntley and David Brinkley, who anchored the evening news for NBC, work out retakes with President Kennedy who was not happy with some of his previous answers to questions. This wouldn’t happen today. Also of note in these outtakes are JFK’s comments about President Harry Truman.

I do not believe the MSM would NOT give Obama or any other D president a second chance answering questions. I suspect it has happened many times with D presidents since JFK. Much of the MSM has become spokes mouths for the D party.

Gipper: I found two links. The first link is to a text-only version of the interview. The tax portion of the interview is roughly halfway down the page. http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/index.php?pid=9397

The second link is to an audio-only version of the interview. http://www.jfklibrary.org/Asset-Viewer/Archives/JFKWHA-213-003.aspx
