The US government is not going to confiscate Iraqi oil and compete with ExonMobil, ConocoPhillips Chevron, and such. Oil will be loaded onto tankers and sent to refineries that are already set up to refine that particular type of crude oil. You have no proof that Iraqi oil was not bought and sold by one or more US companies.The whole idea that the US is, or ever will be "energy independent" is absurd. The oil belongs to the companies, not to the US people or its government, and they refine it and peddle it wherever they please.
