This broad is out of her mind.

The dems can't find a way to pay for health-care so they want to implement a VAT Tax
Of course, the left, will deny the reason for the vat tax is health care reform.

Yeah, right.

Seriously.

Washington can certainly do a better job of not wasting money.

That's why Americans don't have any faith in our government.

Could we please get someone in Congress who understands business just a little bit. They talk about wanting to bring manufacturing back to the U.S., but then entertain a tax that penalizes each step of the manufacturing and service delivery process. Hell with the economy and jobs - its all about being able to provide government services. That model worked so well for the Soviets...come on Washington stop rubbing to sticks together, we have new technology. It's called a lighter!

TFP, heck - I'm waiting for someone in Congress who understands the Constitution, BOR, the concept of Public Servant, etc. Not only do they count on the ignorance of a good segment of the public, but the apathy of another good segment. Between those two, they can just about get away with anything.

The irony of Pelosi & Company now heralding the benefits of a VAT tax is huge. These are the same people who accused Republicans of wanting to do that, in the form of the Fair Tax. Bad, bad idea then, a rape and rip-off of the American people. But now the Beneficent Evil Triad dreams it up, and voila! Now it's wonderful!

We need to do the Christian thing. Jesus drove the money-grubbing money-changers from the Temple. We need to do the same - drive the money-grubbing thieves out of halls of our seat of government.

But the Fair tax is not a tax that goes on top of our current income tax.
Fair Tax is supposed to replace the income tax.

The concept is very much the same, except we pay no income tax, death tax, corp gains tax.. etc..

What a world it would be.

AIR, you can't be serious here. Of course we need to pay for our wars - as well as all the other Constitutional obligations we have. But the amount they now want to steal absolutely eclipses our entire defense funding.

As I recall, we had to spend more because of the "Clinton recession" (did GDP even shrink?), but we're not suppose to spend even more because of the absolutely worse Bush depression?

Especially in reforming a health care system that has no impetus to reign in cost because our corporate run health care masters just want more money pumped into the sector so they can make their profits?

I'm not for the spending, but no one is talking seriously about any true cost cutting, like dismantling our overwrought military.

Keep health care like it is. What's the Righty number for how many people like it? Something like 80%? Great. When it crashes, I'm sure most of those people will ask why somebody didn't do something when we had a chance. It's the American way.
