Not Common Core.
If you wish to make a point about Common Core you really should consider using Common Core in your examples.
“These particular questions appear in a fifth-grade unit of Pearson’s Reading Street, an English Language Arts program,” the Pearson official said. “They accompany a selection about soldiers during the Civil War, and they attempt to make a connection between that passage and language skills. As with all our curricular materials, they underwent a thorough development and review process. Still, we are always open to improving our work … Based on this feedback, we will be modifying the worksheet to clarify these questions.”

The official adds that while they are currently being used as common core material
, versions of this worksheet including the questions of the Possessive Nouns section have been around and copyrighted since 2007.

Is that a good enough example for you?

I already read the article about Pearson once. Let me know if you ever plan to address Common Core specifically in this Common Core thread.

This isn't just a Common Core thread.

And, this article does address Common Core specifically. Aside from the fact that Common Core is an illegal direction of curriculum and usurpation of state autonomy, no one knows what governance structure will be created in the future to address issues related to the Standards.

It may very well be materials like that of Pearson Eduction adopted on a National level. You can not say that this is not possible if the states have no autonomy in their educational standards!

This is what makes Common Core bad and extremely dangerous for the future of education in America.

This prooves that local autonomy is in effect and that the issue is unchanged. Local decisions by biased school people were a probkem before and remain so. You are actually hurting this cause by diverting attention to Common Core and away from local diligence.

Yes ..... Marxist states have promoted Marxist indoctrination for some time on the school children of those states. And, they will continue to do so. The problem with Common Core is ... there is now a Federal Mandated avenue to push this on all states.

Again, no one knows what governance structure will be created in the future to address issues related to the Standards of Common Core. Pearson Education's material is just a snapshot of what will be for all states. If the federal government can control the Standards ... the federal government can control the material used to achieve these standards ...... in all states!!!

Weapons Ban Challenged at High School — But You Might Chuckle Over What Officials Are Actually Restricting

New London, Wis., is a picturesque small town of 7,242 about an hour west of Green Bay that boasts “the great outdoors are just outside your door.”

Indeed, surrounded by 900 acres of parks and trails, New London is a “year-round scenic paradise” perfect for things like hiking, boating, fishing…and hunting.

Which explains why more than a few seniors at New London High School elected to don hunting garb and take along hunting gear for their yearbook photo shoots.

Legal Concealed Handgun Protects Two College Students From Six-Time Felon – Now They Face Expulsion

Two Gonzaga students could be expelled from the university after they pulled a gun on a six-time felon in self-defense after he tried to force his way into their on-campus apartment. Even though the firearm may have saved both of their lives, the student handbook reportedly prohibits students from having handguns anywhere on university-owned property.
They knew what they agreed to and intentionally violated the agreement. Dont agree to what you wlll not abide with. Whining about it is stupid and clearly shows who screwed up.

That was not my point .....

My point in posting this article was to show, once again, the ignorance of some school policies and the overall ignorance of gun control.

Actually, this story could have been post under a number of other threads.

Public University’s Plaque Labels President Lincoln A Democrat

CHICAGO – A public university in President Abraham Lincoln’s home state of Illinois is adorned with a plaque that states Lincoln – arguably the most famous and influential president in American history – was a Democrat.

Lincoln was a Republican.

The plaque, located on a historic building that’s part of Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago and installed in 1905, states: “This building is dedicated to public service honoring the memory of Abraham Lincoln Democrat.”

plaque mounted in 1905. he was actually a whigg but that name became toxic so they cobbled up republican as a bit of smoke and mirrors.

Yes .... installed in 1905 but, there is an investigation to determine if the plaque has ever been altered. Either way it is incorrect and needs to me modified to reflect the truth!
