Is our immunity system enough to treat cancer patients? This question lies in the core of the major scientific discovery by young Lebanese scientist Michel Obeid. Medicine has far failed to find any efficient treatment to this deadly malady.
Under the title "We did not lose the war against cancer," Obeid explained his findings to a crowd of doctors and scientists from Lebanon and France at the National Center for Scientific Research. The young doctor from the Lebanese northern town of Bkerzla, demonstrated how our immunity system plays a significant role in overcoming all diseases and how chemical drugs play a secondary role. Obeid explained that cancer cells have the capability of hiding themselves from the immunity system and this keeps the disease hidden in our body. So the solution, Obeid continued, does not lie in chemotherapy as practiced today in hospitals across the world, but in enabling our immunity system to play the greater role of detecting the tumor and eliminating it.
