Steve Jobs Dies

Moving the goalposts again, I'm surprised !

You stated that Job's motivation was devoid of profit expectation but now wish to retreat to accepting that maybe it was.

You can rest assured that its a very very recent development among some (generally unsuccessful) artists and only those who have a daddy to cover their expenses.

Why would you assume I don't believe in evolution ? More significant why would you frame it as a belief ? Its just science and science either is or it is not. Belief is reserved for that which cannot be proven.

Once again, you put words in my mouth (or rather in my posts) that I NEVER used!

I NEVER said Steve Job's motivation was DEVOID of profit expectation. I said that it was absolutely NOT his main focus, and that he would have pursue his vision and, in his case, his passion even if his products had never become a commercial success. He was a perfectionist, so liked to keep all areas of creativity under his direct control. . . .didn't really care about the "money making" side, except to provide more funds for research and development.

I believe that for Steve Jobs, as it is for most true geniuses, artists and visionaries, their focus in on "creating," not "earnings!"

You either have a real problem understanding my style of writing, or you have a real problem with honesty.

when Jesus did things, it was for the profit motive....

You are amazing!!! Just when I think you can't get any worse, you do.

This has to be the MOST nonsensical post you have ever posted. Have you had your sanity checked recently? Maybe its just your unconscious realizing that your Messiah is a terrible failure and about to get smoked next year. Poor baby!!!

But, I really do enjoy your silly posts. They are so funny. Maybe you should seek a job as a writer on anyone of the Hollywood lib shows. How about Jon Stewart's or Bill Maher's show? You and they have much in common.

Like the time you said the Constitution was one page long. Or, when you condemned Gen for missing math class and then made a first grade arithmetic screw up. Hahahahahaaah.....great fun.....keep it up!

If only libs could understand and accept this....

Steve Jobs owed his greatness to America but not because we Americans can do such great things if we act collectively. Jobs’ debt was to his country’s 235-year commitment to the idea that we possess God-given rights not only to life and to liberty but also to the pursuit of happiness.
Jobs gave a commencement address at Stanford in 2005 when he told the graduates to “love what you do,” which is about as perfect a distillation of the “pursuit of happiness” as anything I’ve ever seen.
The obvious objection to this description of American greatness is that a Steve Jobs comes along once a century -- that people don’t necessarily have the luxury of loving what they do or having the vision to effect it, and that our economic system has to be designed for their benefit and not to free up space for the next Steve Jobs.
That objection gets it entirely wrong. America’s greatness comes from Steve Jobs, and from everybody who has only a millionth in him of what he had -- drive, determination, a hunger to succeed and the capacity to see better and greater things in the future than exist in the present.
Such people exist everywhere, in every nation on the planet. But their ability to pursue happiness is impeded by cultural and political roadblocks that the Founding Fathers removed from our path in their conception of the United States.
Barack Obama does not understand this. Steve Jobs did. He will be remembered as a greater American than the president during whose term he died.

An interesting perspective can be seen here.

He has also been overseeing the development of the delayed iCloud project, which will allow Apple users to store their music, photos and other documents remotely and masterminding updated versions of the iPod, iPad, iPhone and MacBooks, ensuring at least four years’ worth of products are in the pipeline, according to Apple sources.

This will come as no surprise to anyone who has watched Apple and examined their business tactics. Oh and its not as thought Jobs is alone in this, most companies do the same.

Apple products to the greatest extent possible, are built to be owned only until the next model is presented. This ensures continuing sales. Easiest to see is that ithings have integrated batteries. Can't be swapped except at an unrealistic cost. ithings are tied to itunes stores and are very difficult to get alternate content on them. This staging of "innovation" is yet another sign that Mr Jobs was more interested in making a buck than anything else. "Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door" is good advice and taken to heart by this fellow.

And I admire his ability to make it work for Apple. Shame he has not lived to see it any farther but thems the breaks.
