We're discussing Hamas & Gaza. The few excusers here would have us beleive that their poor fate is the fault of the Jews. Their poor fate is the result of their leaders sitting on their asses, building tunnels, planning warfare with a superior force which is bound to be a loosing proposition, weeping and finger-pointing blame elsewhere, and otherwise ignoring assets in hand. Muslims kill etc. as a matter of course having nothing to do with other facts of life, so-called honor killings being a prime example. They don't need the Jews to supply them with babies to kill...

No one actually has any control of anyone going to Hell. A belief in Hell does not mean that it exists. Hell may or may not exist, people may or may not have souls, and souls may or may not be eternal. Belief has no real influence on reality.

Or, it may be imaginary. According to the Book of Revelation, at the moment Jesus died, dead people popped out of their tombs and began cruising the streets of Jerusalem. That would be really hard to miss. You just cannot hide even a small Zombie Apocalypse. Tha seems to be a very imaginary event, as no one else mentions it. Not Mark, not Luke, not Matthew, not John, assuming that the presumed author of the Gospel of John was not John of Patmos.

The Bible is filled with silly stuff. Hell could also be just more silly stuff.

What evidence is there that Hell exists?

The basic premises of the Christian religion are based on a carrot and stick approach.
Heaven is the carrot: if you attend church and do as the religion tells you, you get the carrot and are rewarded with Heaven.
Hell is the stick: if you do not believe and do as the religion dictates, you go to Hell and are punished eternally.

Most religions are similar, because priests need to eat and live well and they can have a pretty cushy job.

We used to think that heaven was up there in the sky, but now that we have sent people up there and have space telescopes and none has seen Heaven, I think that smart people are aware that Heaven is not up there.

Volcanoes and geysers spewing steam and hot water suggest that under the Earth is an unpleasant place, so primitive people decided that this was where Hell was. But again, we drill, baby drill, and no one has ever hit Hell or pulled a bit out of a well and found bits of devil flesh on it. So Hell does not seem to be down there, either.

Heaven is poorly described in religious writing. Some people think if you were a good little boy or girl, you will immediately be electroluxed up nth Heaven and get a halo, a white robe and perhaps even wings. But according to the Book of Revelation, nearly every human who has ever lived is waiting for Jesus to return and judge everyone. Yes, that is what it says, I am not making this up. As they say, RTFM: Read the Effing Manual.

Supposedly, the Biblical character called "God" (who supposedly can see into the future) one day noticed that humans have built a tower that is almost up to Heaven, so he destroys it.

Fast forward to when Yuri Garagan goes into orbit around Earth and announces to the world that he sees no signs of God or Heaven anywhere, and somehow, the "God" character fails to slap him out of the sky.
