I completely agree, Canada should be the poster child for how to deal with this issue. One it is legal then it stops being an all out problem. The real issue here is that the government hasn't figured out a way to tax it properly.

Aren't sex workers taxed like strippers? They act as independent workers and file under their own tax forms.

Is this morally questionable? I think yes. Should it be illegal? I think not. Many things in life are morally questionable but not illegal. I find this to be a personal decision more than anything and a very tough one at that.

It's a business that the government has no right to regulate. Legalize it.

I think that Prostitution should be divided into two sectors. (After being legalized)

First, you have the 'clean', and disease-less prostitutes, and the one's who are 'dirty', and spread diseases. All prostitutes will be required to take a test at the end of every week, and all customers will be forced to take a test prior to the 'transaction'. Prostitutes who remain clean for long periods of time, should be subject to higher rates. I also think prostitutes should be paid based on how good they look, etc.

the problem with testing so rapidly is that it may not pick up STDs that have a longer incubation period. and now there is HPV for which there is no test for men.

Government regulates everything now a days. Name one industry that is completely free of regulation (U.S, Canada, EU).

The whole point of regulation is to protect consumers from the horrible things businesses do.

Uh...did I say anything to the contrary?
The whole point of regulation is to protect consumers from the horrible things businesses do.
And sometimes regulation is not necessary...like now.

Well now there's an interesting thought, although you apparently have done much research on porn on the net. For every look there is, there are people who like it

i think issues of how much these people should charge should be dealt with after the issue of testing for STDs...
