The wisdom of ev cars ,

EVs are over-sold and under-performing. In a Calipornia climate, they're fine as long as you don't drive more than 150 round trip miles a day, -less miles on hilly roads, can charge at home on a 240v system, it's not hot outside, you don't mind paying a +33% premium for your car, not saving any money on fuel, or using electricity from coal fueled power companies in Wyoming and 1,000 lb. batteries made from 750,000 tons of earth in China, Africa and South America. If you drive in a cold state, stay home on bad winter days. Outside of that, EVs are fine. GIGO.

with present technology they do have limited use in some areas

EVERYTHING I DON'T LIKE IS LEFTIST

🙄
No ev cars are not leftist . I do like them but also Im aware they have limitations and do not work well-in all areas.
They have limitations . Also the majority of power for them to charge comes from fossil fuel to start with and it will take decades to change that provide enough charging stations and work out the limitations on charging in hot and cold weather performance in the same .
Lots of problems to work out and it will take time money and advancements in technology to really make a big difference.

Your fairly intelligent and I'm sure you know that every thing I said is true, It has noting to do with leftist or liberal or republican but the limitations we face NOW and in the future. Its being pushed hard yet the problems to really make them useful are yet to be done. You also have the problem of charging for apartments and condos . Who will pay for that and will it still be a premium as it is now because away fromm home they cost more then gas cars to power.

The only way they will replace ICE in any reaosnable time frame is to be pushed.

Its a tough transition. ICE cars stay on the road for 20 years.

But for sure the technology wll catch up.

Yes sooner or later technology will catch up in decades I do not deny that but were pushing to hard for something we have failed to work out right now they have along long way to go and it will cost a amazing amount of money.California has mandated that all new cars sold in the state by 2035 to be electric yet they have a huge debt and growing a tax base that getting smaller and smaller as company s and people leave the state. They have a failed power system as is that has black outs and a lot of people there live in apartments and condos with no way to charge at home .
They simply have not been thinking things out .

I am not trying people yo not to buy them as they do make sense in some areas depending on if you can charge at home the weather where you live and the distances you travel 300 mile range at the most occasionally your probably good grandma.
But they are not good for longer trips suck as you like to drive 400 to 500 as a lot of my family and friends do in Ohio ky wva and Maryland do.

Without getting too picky, the net range for a fully charged Tesla has been found to be more like 220 miles under ordinary conditions. Subtract for running with air conditioning or heater, up hills, faster than 70 mph, or the big bugaboo below shirtsleeve weather. If it's really cold, like zero F°, don’t count on charging outside of your own your garage. Outside of that they're great for greenie weenies! Personally, I can't wait for the new ES (electric snowmobile)!!

Yes if you use them mostly locally or short trips in fair weather they are great like a bicycle or scooter.
