Carter lied about the oil shortage...He said he disagreed with Nixon he would see to it the oil crises never happend again,,, But it did happen again and the result of that he introduced taxes on gasolene and lower speed limit to 55MPH. He said its designed to help us save gas. But it didnt save gas,,It saved lives and gave Police powers to boost revinue to states..Samething the liberal seat belt laws do. Theyre designed to give the police to rob you for revinue. Clinton promised he would tax the people making $200,000 and more. Instead he raised taxes the hurts the middle class and the poor. He raised Gas tax 5 cents a gallon more, Raised engery taxes 10% more,Raised taxes 10% more on communcations and Raised taxes 10% moreon alcohol and tabacco. But he wouldnt raise taxes on Fur Coats,Rolls Royces and Private Yachts.

You make absolutely no sense! Carter did well to try to reduce the amount of gas we use. If we had been able to lower our gas consumptions 30 years ago, we would not be in the mess with oil producing countries we are i. Today.
And seat belts save lives. If you don't want to be stopped and fined for not wearing your seat belt . . .wear it, and you won't be stopped, and you won't be fined, but you will be safer!

And you complain about Obama wanting to raise taxes on people who make ove $1 millon a year (those same people who buy those fur coats and other luxury items),yet you are mad at Clinton for NOT rasing taxes on those items.

First, please explain how tax increases CREATED jobs...other than government jobs.

Second, the economy under BJ Bubba The Impeached Liar was good, but at what cost? Do you remember the dot com bubble? Have you forgotten that the beginning of the real estate bubble that exploded and dramatically has caused terrible hardships on many in the middle class today, started under BJ? The debt crisis also began under BJ.

However unlike you, I being a conservative can commend a liberal like BJ for working with the Rs who controlled Congress (funny how you lefties always omit that) and limited welfare while controlling spending. So, BJ did some things right.

But claiming BJ did all the right things, while also claiming Bush did all the wrong things, while claiming BO did all the right things to prevent a great depression, shows a complete lack of knowledge and considerable immaturity.

Yes! Look he didnt do anything when the Arabs had that oil blackade. Look what JFK would had done if he was president. He would order the Navy to make the Arabs open the gulf. If they refuse he would order an attack use force to reopen the gulf so ships can go in get the oil. Another thing carter could have done was ignore the EPA and dril oil in ANWR. Every democrat since Carter have said no to ANWR. And i gurantee you Newt Gingrich will do something about the EPA this time. If it took a president to Create a government program the next President can redo it an abolish it if he wants.
