New York in iPod crackdown

NEW Yorkers who blithely cross the street listening to an iPod or talking on a mobile phone could soon face a $US100 fine.

New York State Senator Carl Kruger said three pedestrians in his Brooklyn district have been killed since September upon stepping into traffic while distracted by an electronic device.

Well if it's causing deaths then it's not wasting time.

Too many people think unimportant pieces of legislature are a waste of time, but in reality congress has plenty of time to do this stuff.
