By making voter fraud easy and difficult to uncover Democrats count on being able to mock Americans by falsely claiming, "If you can't prove fraud occurred then you are just SOL because we do not have to disprove evidence of fraud ourselves."

"May have" is ripe with meaning. What the SCOTUS pointed out is that without voter ID measures to guard against voting fraud neither Democrats nor Republicans can prove either way whether fraud occurred or did not occur. Since nobody has proven either way whether fraud occurred or not in the 2020 elections the Democrats have made themselves wicked for jailing those who question the legitimacy of the vote totals that nobody has ever proven was accurate.
