A modest proposal this April 15

This country would be better off if we changed a few laws:

1.) Tax withholding from everybody's paychecks, stops immediately. And paychecks go up significantly as a result.

2.) Every week or two, the Fed govts and state govts, send a bill to each citizen for the amount they are no longer withholding, payable on receipt, and everyone must write a check or MO each time, to pay it.

3.) State and national general elections, instead of being held every November, are held one business day after Income Tax day (which is usually April 15).

This will make the country better off, because state and Federal taxes and spending will be brought down to reasonable levels faster than any politician could ever hope to do. And we will start electing politicians who are actually interested in controlling those taxes and spending again.

I'm not saying this proposal is perfect. There will be problems with enforcement, the pain of sending money to govt that you really needed to pay your daughter's tuition or whatever. But this proposal is better than what we are doing now, and will result in a better-run, more free country than it is now.

I would be curious to find out how the government would react if everyone didn't have taxes withheld for a month. They would freak out.

oh yeah, for those businesses that cant get under the headcount bar the answer is to sell off their employees to temp agencies (if they want to be nice as this allows for greater flexibility in benefits). then when the govt changes obamacare to hit them you split it into multiple temp agencies. and when they change that its straight 1099.

people, especially those this turd was made to appeal to are not going to be happy.

You never have shown where the Republicans have ever eliminated any of those regulations when they had the power to do so. Just like they have never secured the borders, eliminated H-1B immigration fraud, etc. However, it is the "liberal way".

I think most of us can agree that there is little difference between the two major parties. They are both liberal parties. One is just not as liberal as the other. It has a few true conservatives within the party, but they are marginalized by all the stinking progressives. The other party is entirely overrun with progressives, socialists, and complete idiots.

That's a great idea.

Better yet, let's make the bill sent to taxpayers big enough to cover the actual amount spent by government that month. I'll bet that would bring about some incentives to cut back spending.
