Good to see some 2 out of 3 Americans still exist in the real world. The 21% we can ignore, for they are the wingnuts, nothing but a lunatic fringe....for the vast majority of Americans they are nothing but comedic fodder or a source of revulsion.
At least he stood-UP for South Carolina's UNIQUE-reputation!!!!!!!!!

According to your poll most Americans don't care very much.

9% of pubs approve and were thrilled and 8% of independents support and were thrilled and 0% of dems approve, while 3% of them approve somewhat.

That makes about 8-9% of pubs and independents rude louts while it makes about 5-6% of democrats hypocrites since they engaged in the same kind of behavior when Bush was in office. And since they did do it too it means that the small percentage of dems are both rude louts and hypocrites.

I agree with the majority that don't care very much. I don't care that he was rude, I don't care that the dems do the same thing. What is important is whether or not the statements of P. Obama were really lies - and clearly a majority of the speech was at best disingenuous and at worst evil.

So the House may censure him, meaning that he will say he is sorry one more time.

Of course, Wilson's outburst was simply rude and childish, and is no big deal, and yes, Democrats do it too.

Was Obama lying when he said that illegal aliens won't be covered under the plan? We don't really know that, do we? The plan hasn't even been voted on in the House as yet, let alone been through the Senate. The Senate has another plan. The fact that the issue isn't addressed could mean that it will be swept under the rug yet again and illegals will be treated, or it could mean that they will be left out. We really don't know.

It is a fact that HR 3200 does not address the issue of illegal aliens. Maybe it should. Maybe if our representatives could get over childish outbursts and start to put the country ahead of the party, the plan could be amended to address that issue, along with others that need to be addressed. Of course, putting country ahead of party is far too much for most of our representatives in Washington. That would be almost as difficult as ignoring the needs of lobbyists in favor of the needs of the average Americans.

Actually we can determine that Obama was lying in several ways.

President Obama was blasted by a top Latino ally today for modifying his health-care plan in the face of conservative criticism.

The criticism was leveled in Spanish by Rep. Luis Gutierrez, a Democrat from Illinois who was the first Latino member of Congress to endorse Barack Obama for president.

Referring to the Obama administration, Gutierrez said: "Those who should be our friends, our allies, are more and more giving Rep. (Joe) Wilson, R-S.C., exactly what he wants to continue with this prejudice against our community."

Gutierrez, who made his remarks in Washington, D.C., while participating in a panel discussion on immigration reform sponsored by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, was incensed by the Obama administration's announcement over the weekend that it was going to bar undocumented workers from participating in the health insurance exchange.

Now what would this politician be angry, uless Obama did him wrong and didn't live up to their aggreement to cover illegals?

The deal was made and Mr. Wilson spoiled it.

Stick around I'll make it clear for you in another way OK.

It's called CHANGE!

The most promising bill contained a loophole that would allow illegals to get health care. There were attempts to close the loopholes but all the attempts were stopped intentionally. After Wilson's outburst the loopholes were closed.

It looks like everyone knew that illegals would receive treatment under the most likely bill.

The most promising bill? Which one would that be? HR 3200 does not say anything about illegal aliens.

Yes, the house bill.

It had no mechanism to keep illegals from using it. So you are right that it said nothing about illegals. It intentionally said nothing about illegals so that they could use it. That was pointed out by pubs who tried to insert amendments to bar illegals from using it. Every amendment was voted down by dems. They wanted to cover illegals.

After Wilsons rude remark the dems added a section to bar illegals. I guess that wasn't too hard after all.

It seems like a simple thing to bar illegals. Of course, the Republican plan seems to be to promote the idea that Democrats are pro illegals while Republicans are the great conservative voice in favor or ending illegal immigration. Maybe that plan will succeed, as soon as voters forget that the Republicans were in power in the WH and Congress for six years and did squat about illegal immigration. Oh well, spin and hype seems to trump fact and logic most of the time in politics.

Now you're fostering a lie.

Anyone can now get healthcare at an emergency room and that does not change. And there was a "nondiscrimination clause" that went to not being able to exclude people by race never mentioning legal status. But if one simply kept reading the Bill they would know the truth. When the President talks about what's COVERED IN THE BILL he supports and that it does not cover illegal aliens it's because it said that... right then... no changes needed.

Illegal immigrants NOT covered in health care plan
August 13, 2009

Since no one was able to find the provision in the pending health care reform legislation that says illegal immigrants will be covered, I checked the official House version of the bill.

Here's the key provision that says illegal immigrants are NOT covered in the plan.

SEC. 246. NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS. Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.

Here's a link to the House bill. It's on page 143. I found it quickly by doing a "find search" in the document for the word "alien."

As far as Wrong Way Joe Wilson. He's an embarrassment to himself, his family, his office and the nation. And yelling insults at a President of the United States giving a Presidential address to a joint session of Congress is simply not done.
