According to a Rasmussen Poll 54% of the public feel America has changed for the worse since 9/11, only 24% say it has changed for the better.

Six weeks after the terrorist attacks, 57% said the nation had changed for the better. By Jan. 2002, 61% felt that way, but the number has been falling ever since.

Gee, I wonder who's to blame for this? You don't have to look far...1600 Pennsylvania Ave. As has been repeated again and again, Bush had a golden opportunity to bring this country together, instead he chose to drive a wedge in it.

I didn't make up the poll numbers, they're pretty clear... Even among Republicans, only 41% think the US has changed for the better. Predictably, only 10% of Democrats feel that way, but in the most telling statistic, independent voters by a 51% to 23% margin believe the US has changed for the worse.

Yes, George Bush has driven a wedge between us, we are without a doubt more polarized than at anytime in modern history. It's a nasty polarization too, at times you can feel the hate emanating from both sides.

Bush had his chance, an approval rating in the 80 percentile range, and what did he do...he used it and a national tragedy for partisan political gain. There are a multitude of reasons why many feel Bush is among the worst presidents in history, but certainly the way the he drove us apart instead of bringing us together is right at the top.
 
Michael Moore and his lies are what got the world to hating us. John Freaking Kerry (who served in Vietnam) saying our troops were killing women and children in the dead of night is what got the world hating us. Obama the messiah saying that we were carpet bombing inocent people is what got the world to hating us.

I cant help that the world hates us, but Ill be damned if I am going to change who I am because of some liberal maggots who got the world to hating us.

This poll isn't about the world hating us, though we surely have given them plenty of reasons. And what John Kerry's Vietnam experience has to do with it, I have no idea. Though we did kill thousands upon thousands of innocent civilians there, what was Kerry supposed to do? Shut up about it, and call it "collateral damage" or "that's just part of war" like all the right wing apologists do? The right wing only cares about American lives, foreign deaths caused by our military are just accepted as part of doing business. How sad.

I like to always mention Vietnam when talking about John Freaking Kerry (who served in Vietnam) because it was so important to John Freaking Kerry (who served in Vietnam) that we all know he did serve in Vietnam.


You are right about the buck stops with Bush But I would add this.....and Congress. The president is not king or god or even the almighty Messiah, he is the President. I feel worse about things too since 911. I see congress as more of the problem than the president but I think he should find a way to do like Reagan did and just bypass the media and congress and go right to the people. He might have done a whole lot better if he had.

Which parties talking points have been picked up and used by our enemies like Bin Laden and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to blast America? :rolleyes:

Which party has members who: condemned its own soldiers as cold blooded murderers - only to be proven wrong, said the surge would fail - only to be proven wrong, blamed our ballooning debt on the war - only to be proven wrong, said the war in Iraq was lost - only to be proven wrong, claim we are LESS safe - even after 7 years with no attacks? :rolleyes:

We have changed for the worse and yet Bush's record low poll numbers are still TRIPLE of those held by the Democrat controlled Congress...

Blaming everything that happens in the country on the president is puerile and stupid.

- Did the president tell people to take out loans they couldn't pay?

- Did the president raise gas prices by causing huge new demand for oil in the world?

- Is the president the inventer of the idea of burning food for fuel - thus driving up food prices?

- Did the president tell al qaeda to attack the US?

You're really "good" at hit-and-run defamations like this one - you toss out a preposterous assertion, but are too gutless to stick around to support it - instead, you zip off to find more slurs and deframations to post.

Anybody who doesn't believe that there are some things worth killing for, or in fact worth dying for, has nothing worth living for, has nothing to live for.

The safety, security, liberty, and prosperity of our nation are most definately worth killing, and dying for, and anyone who fails to comprehend that fact, if they really loved their country, would take their leave of us, and depart for some distant shore where their cowardice wouldn't infect any more of our population.

Not for the first time, your argument makes absolutely no sense at all. Lets take a look at a quote from the poll:

Hmmm...the number has been falling since 2002. Three out of the four excuses you listed are all relatively recent occurrences, gas and food prices were lower then and the loan crisis hadn't yet hit us, certainly they don't go back to 2002 when the numbers began to drop. So we'll just throw them out...just write them off as another failed attempt by you to defend and prop up the worst presidency in modern history.

That leaves you with one excuse..."Did the president tell al qaeda to attack the US?" Well, I'm not a conspiracy theorist, so I concede Bush wasn't involved in the attack. However, that's not what this poll is about..it's about the aftermath of the attack. And after starting out so well, Bush then chose to use the attack for partisan political gain, his approval numbers have been sinking ever since as have the numbers in this poll. Too bad, you're now out of excuses.
 
It is funny how 9/11 happened

Nobody was disciplined

Bush used it to his advantage.


When the police are looking for a suspect the first question they ask is

'Who benefitted from the crime?'
