Mans first question to God, at least as it is recorded in scripture is found in Genesis ch. 4 v 9. "And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? Cain answered "I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?

How does the board feel about it? Are we our brother's keeper?

Of course we are, though I'm betting that arguments over the meaning of "brothers" and "keeper" will blossom into some wild claims, accusations, and deliberate misrepresentations.

There is nothing fundamentally different between 'my brother's keeper' and 'espousing the common good'.

Yes, it is inevitable, inasmuch as we exist in some form of political association.
