This story is so strange!

OK, Yesterday Breitbart posted a story about a woman (Shirley Sherrod) A video of her saying she didn't do as much for a white guy and how she felt he was trying to put her in her place. The part of the video he posted had her saying she did what her job said she must do but in effect she didn't go the extra mile. (no crime in not going the extra mile) the point is she did her job.

I think Breitbart should have told the WHOLE story instead of just the shocking stuff. It turns out that man she was speaking of has since been a family friend and spoke out for her. It turns out the reason she was telling this story is because she was telling a story about how she used to see skin color but that event changed her view on race and helped her realize it was not about race.

None of this was posted on the breitbart page and they should be ashamed of themselves.

BUT what is worse is she was fired yesterday. She said 3 different times she was told to resign because the white house wanted it. Now of course the white house denies her claim.

Also, the place she was working for when this event happened is not even the same job she currently does. They have nothing to do with eachother. If obama can over look racist feelings from the past ( and we know he can, just look at how he dealt with Robert Byrd and his preacher of 20 years) how come he can not over look this? This is an actual woman who has repented from her past racist feelings, came to terms with them and more importantly never did anything against the rules at work she just said she didn't go the extra mile for this guy. But in the end she did go the extra mile and saved the mans Farm.

This is a woman who should be celebrated. She is a woman who was brave enough to admit she had in the past had racist tendencies and or views and over came them. but instead she gets fired!

this Country is butt backwards!!!

After listening to an interview with Breitbart I am not so mad at him after all. Turns out he knew of this story as far back as March and sat on it. He dug up the story to post AFTER the NAACP went on their "the tea party is racist" rant. and it turns out the reason he only posted the "shocking parts" was because he was trying to make a point about how the NAACP showed racism themselves. The part he was was trying to point out was how when the woman would talk about white people as though they were different the NAACP crowd cheered. THey did not know her story was going to be about a change of heart on racial matters while she told the story but they collectively made noises of cheer exc when she spoke of sending the white man away to his own kind exc.

Breitbart did not know that the WH or the NAACP would throw her under the bus, nor was it his intent, he just wanted to show that the NAACP should not throw stones while living in a glass house. So it makes more sense that he didn't post her whole interview.

Also it turns out she might get her job back, I hope she does.

The obama Administration truly is the gang that couldn't shoot straight!

No doubt BO is incompetent. He is a Marxist after all.

Rachel Madcow went off on this story yesterday. She blamed Fox News. She also blamed Fox for the firing of that Nazi - Van Jones and for the Acorn story. She actually claimed the Acorn story was all about nothing. Yeah right.

Crazy!

The chick screwed up. Once a racist always a racist. Shoot, simply speaking at an NAACP gathering is enough to demonstrate that.

I think it is fair to say that Fox news and mostly Glenn Beck is the reason van jones was escorted out of the white house and praise both fox and glenn for exposing it.

But they fired this woman before fox news ever even talked about it. So rachel is just wrong on that one.

she should get her job back, she said nothing racist, the right wing press just took it out of context as expected...

She sure did say things that were racist but she said them in context of her past that she had overcame not as something she currently feels.

The right wing press? You must mean fox news? obama and his gang fired the women before ANYONE on fox spoke of the story. She herself said they told her 3 times to quit because later that day she was going to be on Glenn Beck. She gave her resignation and never was on Glenn Beck that day but later that night was on Bill O for about 30 seconds.

The NAACP condemned her BEFORE anyone on fox talked about her story. The video of her was property of NAACP, they chose to condemn her after seeing the clip on biggov.com or Breitbart.com instead of looking at their own copy of the tape. They did later look at their own copy and retract their condemnation. Then said they were snookered by fox. That was a flat lie since they condemned the woman before fox said anything about it. Looks like you were snookered too :)

The point of exposing the video was not to hurt shirley, it was to point out that the NAACP is as much a racist group as anyone, when she talked about not wanting to have to help the white farmer and sent him to one of his own (meaning a white attorney) the crowd cheered and made noises of approval. They liked that racist type of talk. The crowd also seemed to like the part of her story when she said she wasn't sure how much she was gonna help this white farmer and how she felt bad having to help this white farmer while black farmers were losing their farms too. But the head of the NAACP nagged in a speech that the tea party needs to oust their racists. The NAACP doesn't renounce their racists and that tape proved they do not, they cheer them on. You wont find any tea party groups cheering on a racist speaking at one of their events.

The crowd had no way of knowing she was in the process of telling a story about a change of heart of her racism. the crowd was a racist group. That is all Breitbart was trying to show or point out. Had everything in that video been of white people and about black people you would be in the crowd screaming racist tea party people. but this doesnt help your side so its deemed not racist.

hell pocket a black man could skin a white man alive while singing a song called "you suck you white cracker" and you wouldn't find it racist at all

Either way, the woman got caught in the middle of a battle of the racist accusations of the NAACP and the Tea Party and that was not fair.

Well said Pandy. But, do not expect people like pocketpool to understand. He is much to slanted left to accept your logical analysis.

If she were white and said this at a KKK meeting (most analogous white organization to the NAACP), leftists like pockets would demand she be fired and she would not get any second chances.

But what happened to the end of racial politics many Americans thought BO would bring if he were president? Well...I guess we know what happened to that fairy tale. BO is the most racist president we have seen in some time. Racial politics is his MO.

No healing here and many believe race relations are now more toxic than any time in the recent past.

And the Great Thomas Sowell agrees with ME. I am in good company.

"There is not now, nor has there ever been, anything post-racial about Barack Obama, except for the people who voted for him in the mistaken belief that he shared their desire to be post-racial. When he leaves office, especially if it is after one term, he will leave this country more racially polarized than before. Hopefully, he may also leave the voters wiser, though sadder, after they learn from painful experience that you can't judge politicians by their rhetoric, or ignore their past because of your hopes for the future. Voters may even wise up to race card fraud." --economist Thomas Sowell

I do not personally like the lady and loathe her political views but right is right and she should never have been fired for admitting racism that she over came over 20 years ago while in a different job and worked for a different company than she does now. She apparently sued the government in the past for work related stuff, she will probably sue over this too.

I sure as heck wish obama would learn from his many "teachable moments"

what should he learn? He did not fire her. She got fired, but it was not him who did it. thats like saying if a clerk at walmart gets fired, the CEO fired them....She said nothing wrong, Obama did nothing wrong...right wing media who edited tape to cause problems and attack her for saying something that was not wrong...did...Why don't you try asking them to learn something.
