It says in the article that he was partially motivated by hatred of gays (or hatred of the church for accepting gays - not much of a distinction but a distinction nonetheless) so, even if race didn't have anything to do with it, he was still a bigot.

In the end, he's just a sociopath with an ideology. That he is against "liberals" doesn't necessarily lump him in with all conservatives. The world is not that simple.

Since USHaditcoming coming ( I'll just call him UShiit for short) has stunk up the thread with the race card, lets look at the FBI stats on hate crimes:

From Table 2.34, one can see blacks commit 20% of the hate crimes whites do. (Add to this that there is lots of speculation that many hate crimes committed by blacks aren't identified as such.)

Then from the wiki entry on US demographics, blacks are only 18% of the population of whites. Therefore, blacks commit disproportionately larger amount of hate crimes. The stink, therefore isn't coming from the "right".
