There seem to be mixed messages emerging from national leaders. This article was written by esteemed City University of New York NY Professor, Peter Beinart, making his case for saying there is no immigration crisis:

There Is No Immigration Crisis ...
Politicians can’t be purists. But if political commentators are going to endorse such moral compromises, it’s crucial that they at least acknowledge those compromises for what they are. The truth is that in the United States today, immigration is a challenge but not a crisis—except to the degree Trump makes it one.

However, with so many states calling on DC to provide hundreds of millions of dollars in federal money to help with their increasing illegal immigrant burdens, there does seem to be an emerging crisis. To add to the impression that we have an immigration crisis, the Governor of Massachusetts has just called out the National Guard to help deal with the homeless and jobless immigration problem there.

Are They illegal immigrants or asylum seekers which is legal?
Call the persons causing the crisis what you will, but how many cities will end up calling on DC for massive amounts of money to cover their skyrocketing costs of dealing with the crisis? How many more governors will end up having to call out the National Guard to deal with the problem before we realize that old immigration laws supported by the majority of Americans as well as by President Trump were actually very wise legislative rules for preventing just such crises as this?
