But the actual fact is that the coal industry in Appalachia was shutting down because the mines there are all mined out.
Electricity from coal is NOT cheaper than electricity from natural gas.

Trump claimed that he was going to bring back the Appalachian coal industry. He did not do this he did not even try. "Clean coal" is not cost effective, and no one is producing any sizeable amount of it.

Have you noticed that when Trump says the words "clean coal" he makes washing movements with his teensy hands?
