The polls DID get it wrong and that's the second time now as they got it badly wrong in the last general election over here as well. What I (and a lot of people) couldn't understand though was how the polls had remain ahead in the first place. I for one don't know anybody who wanted to remain, and even when you looked at the so called pop up polls the leave had a healthy lead.
In reality, the only major area of the UK that wanted to remain was the London area, so maybe that tells you that the polls were mainly taken in the south east of England? Either way the polls didn't see this coming and some bookmakers were talking about paying out they was that confident we wouldn't vote to leave.
