Congress' approval rating below that of telemarketers.

Whichever one is conservative.
You can survive being too conservative.
Too liberal--loses nations and freedoms.
Death awaits those who are too liberal.
History is replete with this "news".
The alternative is to put a drunk sailor in charge of the Bank.

Neither one is conservative where it really counts, fiscal conservative.

The only conservative party left is the Libertarian Party.

Yes, a single party system worked oh so well in Mexico for the past 70 years.

We need more parties, not just one.

But, which party do you think we should keep, if we're only to have just one?

So, apparently you now realize that bi-partisanship that you previously demanded, is NOT the solution, but the problem. Good. We are making progress.

Agreeing to compromise with the progressives, socialists, and communists in Congress and the WH will only further push America left and evidentually into a socialist cesspool.

Now let us talk about solutions. We need to return to the true meaning of the Constitution and enforce it zealously (Rule of Law). This would mean drastically cutting the size of the Fed government to perform ONLY those functions outlined in the Constitution.
- Elimination of the federal income tax.
- Elimination of the Federal Reserve.
- Elimination of all foreign aid.
- Follow a policy of non-intervention in foreign relations...bring ALL our troops home.
- Allow the private sector to thrive by eliminating the numerous rules and regulations imposed on it....however, once a private company commits illegalities, they go to jail...unlike what is done today with MF Global, Leyman Brothers, etc.
- No more government bailouts of ANY private company.
- impose term limits on Congress...reduce their salaries and force them to abide by all laws they enact.
- thats just for starters....but then I am a dreamer...

Yes, you are. None of the above is going to happen.

I wonder if anyone has ever thought--
The "new" government is really done by so-called "polls"--that tell us how and what to think.
George Orwell stuff.
Dumbing Down--Phase II.

Who said they recommend one party? Not I. You do jump to conclusions...among other things...

Washington warned about the two party system. Maybe eliminating parties altogether might be good.

But, I do know one thing for sure. The commies, progressives, socialists, etc. should be removed entirely from both parties.

I like this--(y)

That would be something if there were NO parties. If that were the case, most voters wouldn't know who to vote for.

It would eliminate the entire outdated and luddite concept of "platforms" and privilege and special favors.
Get rid of the goddamn lawyers and pharma and all the other unions and special interest, et al, that buy out the whole system.
Let candidates get their own following and go from there.
Tantamount to deposing monarchy--and rather the same situation.

I'm afraid it really wouldn't matter, unless there were term limits.

Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely
Which is why there should be term limits.
and no parties. Washington was right, political parties are not a good thing. Pols are able to gerrymander their districts to include enough cheer leaders for their party that it is very difficult to unseat them.

I was about to respond to several posts here but you have basically said it all.

Yes, you are. None of the above is going to happen.

The American Revolution is an example of it happening once before. And if it happened once then it can happen again. I would hope that with the foundation that was laid in the Const that we would not need to go through a war this time. Time for another Tea Party (the kind with boats and tea) at least.
