wow Pro Gov all the way huh? even when its obviously corrupted and broken? you are serious on this? i have been to all of the top 15 countries...except for Russia and Algiers, and about a lil more than half of the bottom 15.

I think your barkin up the wrong tree here? the standards of living in at least 9 ,of the top 15 ,are actually as high or HIGHER than ours. With the Netherlands Germany Switzerland, and Sweden leading the charge. Not only are the equal or higher in standard of living, they also have TRUE freedom something that was tossed aside with the trash here at home many years ago

we are only as free as we can AFFORD to be and that gap grows greater by the hour...I love this country but i fear its Government. i will figh to the death to preserve my rights and freedoms and will never chose leaving this country

it is OUR duty and RIGHT to correct the current situation

My point was that the countries at the top of the list are, for the most part, exporting nations. The countries in the bottom 15 have made the decision to import from the countries that want to break their backs working all day. Everything I'e learned of global economics shows that this has never been a serious problem because wealth swings back and forth. Normally, when a country reaches the level that China has, they tend to slowly begin importing more and more to take the burden off of their own workers. The history of economics tells us that the situation corrects itself.

Axis, I'd like to know how you consider these European countries to have "true freedom." I've been to Germany and honestly I can't see how anyone would consider them to have a higher standard of living than the United States.

Actually at the top of my list is the Netherlands,in my humble opinion the country with the MOST freedom in the world, followed by Sweden, and Switzerland,

Germany also has a high standard of living in my opinion in the cultuaral centers of the large cities like Berlin. i find the United states does have a high standard of living but that is mostly because we are Gluttonous and live way ouside of our means. we are living on borrowed time and labor

Most american will NEVER pay off all of the debt they incur by the time they pass away...and most americans live outside of theyre means. we use far more energy than anyone else have too many cars and not enough public transportation and we are so sarrogant we dont even care

I find many of the trappings of american society to be of no real value or use ...mostly just so we can be all sawggering like john wayne and so that we can outdo the jones next door

I have a feeling we have an entirely different view of what constitutes quality of life or standard of living as i stated I find the netherlands to be the most progressive free country in the world not to mention has a rich history and culture which america completly lacs unless you want to include holly wood

Yeah, I think we have a difference of opinion over quality of life. You have a problem with how people choose to live their life while I was simply talking about the life a person is able to live when you figure in the constraints of the economic picture and government restrictions.

Actually only ONE of the fifteen have standards of living "as high or HIGHER than ours", Norway with gdp per capita of $47,800. The US has a gdp per capita of $43,500. Netherlands-$31,700, Germany-$31,400 Switzerland- $33,600, and Sweden-$31,600 MARK
