I wouldn't be so quick to denigrate Europeans. They have been around much longer than the US and have seen their cities be bombed, ruined, rebuilt, bombed again and so on. Let's say that when it comes to conflict and both sides of the hurt (not just the delivery part), they've got the edge of wisdom on the US ten times over. We just lost the Twin Towers on 911 and we're still in shock over it. Imagine losing the entire cities of New York and Los Angeles all in the same day? Equivalent stuff has happened in some European countries..

So, show some respect.

They are nervous about Obama. The rise or fall of the US in the rapidly approaching fork in our road is a concern to many nations who depend on our usual generosity and food supply. To see Obama the "post turtle" (thank you Godspeed!) precariously balanced to assume power here, is making the color drain from many a European face who knows where the dinner on their plate comes from.

McCain and Bush-politics as usual must be equally frightening to them. Maggie Thatcher for all her faults and foibles was one of the toughest Prime Ministers of England. So when they see Hillary shoved out forcibly by the Mediagoons here spewing sexist comments, they must just shake their heads in wonder and amazement.

Actually, to the Europeans, we appear quite like spoiled, fattened and reckless teenagers, consuming most of the worlds junk-food (oil) per capita and gang-jumping other countries when they've got something we want, ignoring our internal policies thinking foolishly that the US is immortal and there's no danger we cannot face and come out shining...

Boy have we got a lot to learn. And Europe could teach us if we'd only turn our patriotic-rhetoric stereos down long enough to hear them.

Hey Sublime, in the Euros, we got Germany/Turkey and Russia/Spain in the semis. Who do you favor? I think we're looking at a Spain/Germany final, if so that should be great theater.

While this was happening, the euroweenies cut back their defenses, and took 8-week vacations and sat in the cafe and the pub on their asses, criticizing from the sidelines. THEM lecturing US on dictators is strictly amateur night.

You never heard of the soviet union? Before your time? Vietnam was fully supported by China and the soviets, they just let the viets do the dying. And Iraq has caused two wars - they were armed to the teeth, by (surprise surprise) the euroweenies and russia.

Without getting into the disaster that socialized medicine would be (and the US is as far away from "lassiez-faire government" already as Pluto is from the sun) the issue was not the merits rolleyes of socialized medicine, but how like euroweenies Obama is. All libs like them - they like their statism and their suppression of national sovereignty.

"Squalor"??? If it's "squalor", why don't all these people flee the US and apply for citizenship where it's "better"? I don't know what propaganda outlet is warping your mind, but you'd have a hard time finding "squalor" in the US.

Rather than denigrate me personally, why don't you debate the issues? Who knows - maybe I'm wrong, but I'll never know if people are too frightened to debate.
