French socialist acknowledges his win will kill jobs

Greedy pigs are angry at Gov Walker, its really sad. I hope for the sake of his state and our future they let him finish what he started and is doing so well.

It's the Unions doing it, and it's just a response of their death throes.

Well...

Give the guy a chance to bash America first. Bill was mad after Jacques Chirac constantly bashed our Country and our President... So we should wait till the new socialist starts bashing us before we get nasty back. By Thursday I am sure we will get our chance :)

And I think it went to Freedom fries :)
In Australia we do not call them French
anch flies except at Mc Donald's they are chips.

You could be happy living off the backs of others? Eventually all the rich people will move and then who would you live off of?
I do not live of the backs of other. Millioniares at least in Australia give little to society. Even in America most pay 30% tax and have many rebates. Some directors pay less tax than their secretaries. I believe in progressive taxation where the rich pay more taxes out of their surplus wealth. If they choose to leave the country for a lower tax country let them go. It is the middle class and the small business that generated wealth and most employment.

You do not live off the backs of others in Australia but you want to move to France so you can live off the backs of the rich there? I am confused by your previous post about wanting to move to France after you learned they would soak the rich to pay for everyone else.

The New French President has announced he will tax milionaires 75%. That far more than the USA , Even higher than Australia,so he has ignore Obama. He will withdraw French troops from Afghanistan this year. He will lower the pension age for manual workers from 62 to 60. It is so good , I might move to Paris.

It is unbeleievable that anyone thinks like you.

Big government is killing most western nations and destroying the middle class. Yet you believe big government is the solution when in reality, it is the problem.

The solution is free markets, individual liberty, and the rule of law. All things destroyed by big government. Why is it I can see the OBVIOUS solution, but you do not?

I see some contradictions in there.

Gipper I think the problem may be in our definitions due to different cultures. In Australia Millionaires would not be elected. When one offer himself as a candidate to the opposition conservative party he was rejected. The opposition leader knew his money would lose votes. That is not apparently the problem in the USA where you have elected mostly millionaires to be President.

I am not sure what you mean by big Government. You can not mean one with regulations because you do say government "must follow the rule of law". Laws and regulations make for bigger governments. Even safeguarding individual liberty need regulations.Even a conservatives have regulations. I want regulations that help the poor as well as the rich. We have minimum wages, safety regulations, maximum hours of work .We also have rules limiting the power of governments , big corporations and unions. We support the Middle class and small business.

Your point about millionaires means nothing to our debate. You love big government and I love liberty. The two can not coexist. But, for Aussies to exclude millionaires from their politics just because they are millionaires, is dumb.

Big government is what we suffer under in both our countries. Regulations and laws are only a part of the problem. The growth of regulations in the USA has been astronomical and their negative effects are apparent on the middle class and small business. Big government and big business go hand and hand.

You might research the consequences of persistent deficit spending and the unsustainability of social welfare programs.

Why would Australia turn away successful people? Millionaires are usually the job makers and the ones who drive the economy. Also, being a millionaire in this country doesn't mean much anyway. A decent home, a nice car some savings and a little investment towards retirement can put you into that category. It doesn't mean your rich.

I believe you will find that "average Joeness" is a virtue in the Land Down Under. it can be a bit of a trick seeming like one there if you are well to do.

I did not say we are against successful people. Many middle class people came from poor backgrounds and are respected. However the average Millionaire in Australia made his money out of Mining and wants to keep the profits of mining minerals, which everybody really owns, to himself. We have a two stage economy. The mining sector is very rich but the rest of the economy while better than most countries is not so rich. We want the mining profits to be shared by all Australians through taxation.

You are "sharing" the profits via taxation. You want more despite having nothing to do with creating those profits. Nothing unusual about this, happens everywhere just clarifying.

To think increasing taxation on the rich somehow results in sharing, or as libs here like to say 'fairness', is wrong headed. It is nothing more than income redistribution that EMPOWERS government (which is why pols love it) and enslaves the people to government handouts resulting is a much less prosperous society.

This is the exact reason why Europe's economy is cratering and the US is not far behind. Socialism does not work. It always ultimately FAILS! Why is it you are unable to comprehend this?
