How is that good news if it means that now only 7% of Tennessee residents are signed up for Obamacare? Big whoop. Considering the fact that 14% of Tennesseans live below the poverty line and that illegal immigrants are also getting free Obamacare, we are left to wonder if any of those who signed up for Obamacare pay anything at all to be on the plan. Talk about free government healthcare.

Anthony Weiner of New York pointed out that the health insurance industry has no clothes, and Joe Scarborough, after first trying to spin it some gossamer threads, broke down and said, By God, you’re right, this emperor is a naked money-making machine!

Well, he didn’t use those exact words, but Joe did seem to finally get that America has granted insurance companies the right to create bottlenecks in the financing of health care, in order to extract profits out of the suffering of ordinary people--without providing any actual health care whatsoever.

“Why are we paying profits for insurance companies?” Weiner asked Scarborough. “Why are we paying overhead for insurance companies? Why,” he asked, bringing it all home, “are we paying for their TV commercials?”

“It sounds like you’re saying you think there is no need for us to have private insurance in health care,” Joe asked at one point.

Weiner replied: “I’ve asked you three times. What is their value? What are they bringing to the deal?”

"Single-payer national health insurance, also known as “Medicare for all,” is a system in which a single public or quasi-public agency organizes (i.e. manages) health care financing, but the delivery of care remains largely in private hands. Under a single-payer system, all residents of the U.S. would be covered for all medically necessary services, including doctor, hospital, preventive, long-term care, mental health, reproductive health care, dental, vision, prescription drug and medical supply costs.

The program would be funded by combining our current, considerable sources of public funding (such as Medicare and Medicaid) with modest new taxes based on ability to pay.

Democrats are claiming their fight to keep republicans from destroying Obamacare as the justification for keeping the government shut down. But that is kind of stupid since what they claim is a republican attack on Obamacare is not much more than the fact that with or without a shutdown the years-long continuation of democrat subsidies propping up Obamacare will automatically expire in two months. Obamacare only seems cheap because the government keeps propping it up with billions of dollars in subsidies.
