Cell phone footage obtained by Drop Site News confirms the man murdered by federal agents in south Minneapolis on Saturday morning was on his hands and knees when he was shot multiple times by a federal agent. The man, identified by the Minnesota Star Tribune as Alex Jeffrey Pretti, 37, was assaulted, pepper sprayed and disarmed by agents before he was shot for trying to help a woman to her feet after she was violently shoved by a federal agent.
The footage completely contradicts a lying statement issued by the Department of Homeland Security after the killing, which claimed that Pretti “violently resisted” Border Patrol agents, forcing them to fire “defensive shots.” These lies were echoed by President Trump.
In the cell phone footage obtained by Drop Site News, Pretti is seen carrying a cell phone and recording agents as they conduct a kidnapping operation. Pretti is observed trying to direct traffic when a federal agent approaches another Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) observer and begins to assault her. The footage clearly shows a federal agent pushing and shoving the woman observer to the ground, even though she is across the street from the kidnapping operation and in no way hindering or “impeding” agents.
