now it may or may not happen but you cannot say its a fantasy unless this guy in charge is lying. far more likely he got flattered with a Bloomberg interview and said more than he should. or rather before he should.

Fiat is in “very detailed conversations” with its Chinese partner, Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. (2238), about making Jeeps in the world’s largest auto market, said Mike Manley, chief operating officer of Fiat and Chrysler in Asia. Chrysler hasn’t built Jeeps there since before Fiat took control in 2009.

“The volume opportunity for us is very significant,” Manley, who is also president of the Jeep brand, said in an interview at Chrysler’s Auburn Hills, Michigan, headquarters. “We’re reviewing the opportunities within existing capacity” as well as “should we be localizing the entire Jeep portfolio or some of the Jeep portfolio.”

Or they said what they where doing and a mindless Republican party heard what they wants...new plant equals closing a plant...because they want it to be true.

What manufacturing company wouldn't move to China when the average hourly wage for Chinese manufacturing workers is less than a tenth that of their average U.S. counterparts. Plus it is about twice as cheap to live in China, those lower Chinese wages go further. Chinese factory workers also work longer hours for these same low wages.

Years ago China did not have the technology to produce something complex like an automobile. But now, as US companies set up the modern factories, the Chinese have learned how to accommodate US businesses. It's not complex math to figure out why our manufacturing companies are moving to China. And our high school educated factory workers are not going to find another manufacturing job in the US - hence high unemployment.

BTW did you guys know that the real reason the US feared Russia had nothing to do with Communism ( like they suckered you into believing)

It was because they were terrified that the Soviet Union would flood the world with cheap well made goods and fuck the US economy

That is a fact.

They were always a great export power--during the Soviet era.
I loved my Zil and my Lada.
And the mustard! Oh! The mustard!
And the dried reindeer sausage.
