Marijuana U.S.A.

"Backers of a statewide ballot initiative to legalize medical cannabis access announced that they have surpassed the total number of signatures necessary to qualify the question for the November ballot.
.

Following the campaign’s announcement, lawmakers introduced a resolution (SCR 127) urging voters to reject any effort to bring the Idaho Medical Cannabis Act to the ballot.” Text of the resolution states that the Act “would have devastating impacts on Idaho children and their families … and would effectively legalize widespread recreational use of marijuana.”
.

"The United States Army is easing rules for applicants with prior marijuana offenses.
.

Previously, recruits with a marijuana-related conviction were required to undergo a two-year waiting period, seek a special waiver from the Pentagon, and pass a drug test. The revised rules, announced last week, remove those restrictions for those with a single conviction for possessing either marijuana or marijuana-related paraphernalia.
.
Army representative Col. Angela Chipman said that the policy change
reflects the reality that most states now regulate the use of cannabis for either medical or adult-use purposes. She said, “As the states continue to legalize marijuana, … at what point are we hindering ourselves by holding people to this type of conviction that in some states is okay and some states isnt?
.

"Members of the House and Senate have passed legislation (HB 797 | SB 439) prohibiting employment discrimination against firefighters and other rescue workers who use state-authorized medical cannabis products while off-duty.
.
Both bills passed their respective chambers by votes of nearly
3 to 1, with House members advancing its version of the bill on Thursday by a vote of 100 to 31."
.

"As the labor-intensive cannabis industry matures, colleges and universities across the country are adapting to meet the demand for a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
.
With the
national industry supporting an estimated 425,000 full-time jobs, higher education institutions are launching programs to prepare students for careers in cultivation, retail, compliance, product development and medical applications."

Wow, I had no idea that you were a scientist. I thought you were just some pro-Marijuana pot head!
I am AGAINST banning marijuana. I think that people have the absolute right to make their own life decisions. And it is true that many many studies have concluded that marijuana is LESS addictive an harmful than tobacco and alcohol. So it makes no sense to ban it, since we ban neither alcohol nor tobacco.

All drugs can be harmful in large enough quantities.

If it did not involve ANY social services, police services, detention services, parole/probation services, fire services, unemployment services, welfare services, medical services, addiction services, etc. it may be "their own life decisions", however, use of narcotics leads to the use of numerous social services at other people's expense.

Democrats despise "basketsful of deplorables" conservative Christians for preaching the Bible's condemnation of sins like drunkenness, wantonness, looting, lying, voting fraud and more.
