Maybe Obama IS bringing the races together

Where in my comment did I say the 8 years before the obama rule was good or bad? or are you just putting words in my mouth again?

You like what he has done with health care? I think that the health care bill was a terrible bill that needs to be ripped up and burned!

I think making share holders eat it and protecting the unions when it came to GM was disgusting. Had you had stock in GM and lost it while the union members made out you might not like it either. Everyone was screwed from the backside on the GM deal except for the unions. I find it queer that anyone would think what he did with GM was acceptable... exept for liberal hacks.

Screw seal team 6 right? obama went in guns blazing and got osama.... He made a call, a decent call and sat like a scared school boy watching his call play out on tv :)

You also forgot how he killed the black teenage pirates! Arent you proud of him for that one too?

So your saying that the 8 years before Obama was not as good?as the 4 years with ?

OOO you don't like health care...Guess what I don't like the Iraq war....guess what one did a lot more harm...

If you had GM stock and Mitt was in charge, you know what you would have right now...about the same as if you had Enron stock...nothing. Also guess what...you know who started the Auto bail out and supported it...because it was in fact the right way to go and the only choice we had outside of them failing...Bush...Of course you guys never bring that fact up.. It was All Obama...Just like the Banks...completely ignore the Republican in the white house ( this is the part where you cry Bush was a progressive or some Bull...) did you cry about how horrible it was when the airlines got bailed out under Bush? I doubt it. The only thing you have going on this issue is you will never have to see what would have happened if we let the banks fail..and auto industry fail ( by the way you can't talk about well Ford...because it was well accepted that if GM and Chrysler went down, so to would Ford and it was even suggested Toyota) I know you hate that workers got to still get paid...I am very sorry to hear that. But you know what..everyone lost under the deal...and in the end..everyone gained. I know you would rather cut the workers pay in half and let the people who actuly made the choices that put them there keep all there money..heck maybe just throw them a raise like many companies do. I recall when Kmart Filed Bankrupcy and cut workers and hours and pay for people...they gave those in charge a big raise for it. Thats the Republican way...Screw the workers pay off rich and bitch about socialism. you know what. if it was such a bad deal the Unions, or the leadership could have said no to the bail out...so if it was good enough for them...

Did I say screw SEAL team 6? Nope...but you know what...Obama is Commander in chief...he had the make the call that many others did not agree with to go in ( only Gates I believe said we should go in) and Obama is said to be the reason we had back up choppers ready that we ended up needing when one of the 2 first ones went down ( something some idiot on this site blames on him) Simple fact that deep down you know is true...had things gone bad...you and the rest of the right wingers would have screemed for his head and blamed it all on him...So yes...you do have to give him credit. Just like there are many members of SEAL team 6 that did not jump out of a Chopper and do anything there...and you know what...they all deserve credit. the guy sitting at a desk sorting intel, the guy doing radio work to make sure everyone was in the right place and getting people where they need to be...ALL get Credit...not just the ones you wish to because of Policits.

I forget when the Republican party became PETA for Pirates. Guess what you take hostages, sometimes you get shot...no matter your race or age...Suck it up. you know many many killed in Afghanistan for the Taliban and al Quida are teens? quite a few...you going to start a support group for them to? its a bunch of Bull because people like you and others here are simply unamble to give credit for anything good. Had Bush been in office you would not have said a damn word about the poor black teen Pirates.

Nope I simply said “
He has done very little good and a great deal of bad in the short time he has been ruling over us.” You added in the rest about President Bush and the 8 years he was in office. I never mentioned him at all.
OOO you don't like health care...Guess what I don't like the Iraq war....guess what one did a lot more harm...
The Iraq war is over, obama care has just begun. We do not know the damage in full yet.

If you had GM stock and Mitt was in charge, you know what you would have right now...about the same as if you had Enron stock...nothing. I don’t think anyone ignored what Bush did in the way of bail outs, that is partly how he got such a low approval rating. Not everyone was against him for the Iraq war, some of us were not happy with him based on the way he spent money like a flaming liberal.

The only thing you have going on this issue is you will never have to see what would have happened if we let the banks fail..and auto industry fail ( by the way you can't talk about well Ford...because it was well accepted that if GM and Chrysler went down, so to would Ford and it was even suggested Toyota)
I don’t think I agree with you about Ford and Toyota failing if we didn’t give billions to GM but thankfully in America you can have your opinion and I can have mine.

I know you hate that workers got to still get paid...I am very sorry to hear that. But you know what..everyone lost under the deal...and in the end..everyone gained.
I do not have any problem with workers getting paid, I have problems with the stock holders being demonized by the commander and chief for wanting to get something for their stock and control ending up in part to union members instead of the stock holders.

I know you would rather cut the workers pay in half and let the people who actuly made the choices that put them there keep all there money..heck maybe just throw them a raise like many companies do.
You know very little about me.

you know what. if it was such a bad deal the Unions, or the leadership could have said no to the bail out...so if it was good enough for them...

The unions made out very well in the GM deal. The stock holders were screwed. And If unions were worth having they would not have to be forced on you like they are.

No you didn’t and I don’t think you think that way, I was just frustrated with you for putting words in my mouth that I had not said either so I was as they say… giving you a taste of your own medicine.

Simple fact that deep down you know is true...had things gone bad...you and the rest of the right wingers would have screemed for his head and blamed it all on him...So yes...you do have to give him credit. I don’t have a problem giving him credit. I am glad osama is dead. I think it’s kind of funny though that the lefties would either say getting osama means nothing while President Bush was in office or they would sometimes say why had he not gotten him yet. It’s like the Iraq oil… We were told by the left we were only there for oil and the same lefties complained that we never even took any oil as payment for all the money we spend there. You are right you can’t win. The left will always hate the right and visa versa…

I only say that because if Bush had still been president when it happened he would have been labeled the killer of black muslim teen agers. I am all for killing pirates J

at least these two guys

to paraphrase Dog the Bounty Hunter, 'these guys just LOOK like criminals'.
and so they are.

Obama brought these two yahoos together, how again?

Whether you have a Republican or a Democrat in the White House it doesn't make much difference. The USA is falling apart. The rich are becoming richer and everybody else is becoming poorer.

It is really disgusting also that Obama really screwed over the autoworkers. The companies got a great deal, and the autoworkers got screwed. There is now a two-tier wage system in the American auto industry. In addition, Obama and the sellout union bureaucrats negotiated a no-strike clause. Later, the UAW tops shoved this sellout contract down the throats of the Ford workers as well.

This is proof that the unions need new militant leadership!

The unions are multiracial by the way. When I worked the docks a black coworker saved me when there was an accident. It all happened so fast! If it hadn't been for him I'd be in a wheelchair today. I think unions help to bring black and white workers together.

I think one of the reasons that America is becoming less prosperous is because unions are on the decline. Back when unions were a lot stronger the USA was far more prosperous. Now all the prosperity is for the rich.

The data does not show that the "poor are getting poorer" -- in fact it shows that real income for the bottom 20% of people has risen over time -- and that, as group, the people who make up the bottom 20% do not stay the same either.

The auto workers got screwed over by an incompetent management structure -- they deserved to go bankrupt, and the fact that they got bailed out at all is absurd.

This is proof that the unions need new militant leadership!

This is an argument I have never heard before -- we need stronger unions to promote multiculturalism?

You do understand that under the forced bankruptcy of GM existing shareholders got 1 cent on the dollar right? They were not saved -- nor should they have been. If you invested in GM it was a bad investment -- it happens -- and you deserve to get wiped out.

Which is why you never invest more in any one entity than you can afford to lose.

Wolf has a point about unions, not that they're so much a help to the poor, as they are a route to the diminishing middle class.

Agreed.

What exactly is "middle class"?

In my opinion, unions are a relic of a time before you had to compete on a global scale. Let's face it -- anyone would love to get paid more for doing the same job someone else will do for less. Fact is -- if I can buy something from China that is cheaper and just as good -- why would I pay someone more in the US to sell it to me?

Either innovate and adapt -- or die in the global market. Unions to date have shown an inability to do either -- and hence are on the decline.

We d0n't deserve to live the good life simply because we are American -- we deserve to live the good life because we outwork, out-innovate, and out-adapt, our competition.

You are right to note that the active union members got screwed in favor of retired o nes and un ion management who came out like the bandits they are.

But unions drove jobs away by overpricing labor. And a far greater cause for income disparity is a failed educational system that puts out unskilled workers (when they don't just drop out. And the root causes of that ? Unions.

American labor, whether union or not, is not price competitive with the Chinese who will work for less than $1 an hour. The downside to that cheap labor is that the worker can't afford to buy the products of that labor. If enough workers can't afford what they are making, then we have no market.

Henry Ford understood that principle over a hundred years ago, yet we go on seeking the cheapest labor possible.

He also understood that it was by improving the tech that he could afford to do it. Handmade cars naturally cost more and were time consuming to make so he invented the better mousetrap.

What America has generally failed to do for the last generation or so is come up with those better mousetraps. Or made an educated workforce. So our products CAN be made by most anybody and of course more cheaply.

The buggy whip people complained but they let the world sail past them. Even the saddle and horse shoe guys upgraded their skillset to fit the car biz and so they continued.

We've come up with some pretty innovative ideas, particularly in electronics.

The problem is, Ipads and the like aren't made here. They're made in China by people can not afford to buy what they produce.

Did you see the "60 Minutes" segment about how Chinese workers live and work? Appalling.

Clearly not the Next Big Thing, besides Ipads are just a PC with no hard drive.
There are loads of Ipads being sold in China (until the lawsuit that is).

I don't watch 60 Minutes but I'm sure the lower classes lifestyle environment looks pretty shabby but its a step up for them. Such things are relative.
