President Barack Obama's Secretary of Energy Stephen Chu uttered the kind of Washington gaffe that consists of telling the truth when inconvenient. According to Politico, Chu admitted to a House committee that the administration is not interested in lowering gas prices.

Chu, along with the Obama administration, regards the spike in gas prices as a feature rather than a bug. High gas prices provide an incentive for alternate energy technology, a priority for the White House, and a decrease in reliance on oil for energy.

The Heritage Foundation points out that hammering the American consumer with high gas prices to make electric and hybrid cars more appealing is consistent with Obama administration policy and Chu's philosophy. That explains the refusal to allow the building of the Keystone XL pipeline and to allow drilling in wide areas of the U.S. and offshore areas.

Some of the lefties make no bones about what they are doing. Didn't he say awhile back he wanted gasoline to cost $8-$9 a gallon? And Obama and Biden have both said thet they wanted to shut down coal and that electricity "would necessarity skyrocket".

We only use 42% of oil for gas. The rest goes for other things we use everyday.

yes he let that cat out the bag long ago. he's all about tripling our energy costs.
 
The fact that higher gas prices serve to make over-priced and under-powered "alternatives" more attractive in the market is merely a side show, the Left wants the Jackpot. The only way the public would ever accept the government nationalizing US oil companies would be if the public itself demanded it.

That's one of the Left's biggest wet dreams and they have a plan. The Left does everything in their power to surreptitiously increase the cost of gasoline while blaming the increase on the "greed" of oil companies and then suggests nationalization as the only way to make sure the "interests of the American people" are placed above the "interests of greedy oil companies".

The spank bank of the Left is filled with billion dollar industries that they hope will one day fall victim to that very strategy.

Manipulation: exerting shrewd or devious influence especially for one's own advantage.

So true.

The Left has done much the same thing with America's healthcare system. They have intentionally worked to destroy the healthcare system with burdensome regulations causing costs to skyrocket, while also claiming the HC system is a failure and must be socialized. Its CRAZY...and yet, many Americans fail to see the truth.

What I find amazing is how easily the Left gets away with their tyrannical actions. How is it Americans believe their lies and allow them to pervert everything they touch, while benefiting themselves? You have to admire them for their ability to enrich themselves, while claiming to be about fairness. The hypocrisy is over the top and yet, many Americans don't see it.

Supply and demand..Guess what the whole world is using more and more oil...Oil is Finite ( I know you guys don't belove that ...its to science like and factual) And you have idiots like the Republican from Florida bitching about how much it takes to fill up his tank...in his HUMMER....of course the fact that gas was more expensive under Bush...well who cares about that....And of course even the hint at using oil more efficiently pisses you guys off. But no worries I am sure your freinds are enjoying some huge profits again while taking in your tax money that the republican party will never let them cut the funds for.
