Well, well..look at this. Sure puts a bit of a damper on all the wingnut crowing about Obama's falling numbers. Republicans are dropping as well.

Although Obama's approval/disapproval spread between April and December has fallen ten points, Mitt Romney dropped nine points, and Mike Huckabee has fallen eight points. Sarah Palin has only lost two points, but she has had consistently worse ratings than the others to start with.

"These numbers suggest that at least part of Obama's decline in popularity can be attributed to a general dissatisfaction of voters with politicians right now regardless of their party."

Well.. I will say as always that polls right now are pretty meaningless.

That said, I would still say the comparison is somewhat flawed since none of the Republicans you mentioned are the presumptive nominee. On the other hand, it is pretty certain that Obama will be the nominee for the Democrats.

Therefore, I would argue it is easier for Republicans to overcome falling poll numbers among the three you mentioned than it will be for Obama to overcome falling poll numbers.

I think you are right on with the thought there is a general dissatisfaction of voters with politicians right now.

It is not just obama. Every time I vote I have to wonder why out of all the people in the United States this is what they give us to pick from.

Its sort of depressing :(

I'm getting depressed too Pandora. I've become gradually disillusioned with the Obama Administration. Many of his policies aren't noticeably different from Bush. I mean, what's the point?

From my view, we have two parties... Republican and Republican lite. Without rabid progressive support, Obama would have never been elected, but now that he's in office, he acts like he never knew us.

Both parties are so much alike it's ridiculous and they have a monopoly on the electoral process. It sucks.

I am curious what exact policies Obama is pursuing are you so disenchanted with? The war? The spending? Healthcare? What exactly?
