RINO Romney enters prez race

Conservative has come to mean something other than conservative. The people you call conservatives are John Birch society radicals.

I'm not telling you that you like Cain. You're telling me that you like Cain. I am telling you one of the reasons you like Cain. I'm sure that there are others. I can't wait to hear them, now that you've gotten your little threat out of the way.

What "threat" was that, Doc? Educate yourself. Read the second amendment. Read the entire U.S. Constitution. I'm sure it'll be a first for you.

You make these sweeping assumptions that everything you say is golden. You are wrong on so many fronts, I really don't know where to start. So I'll just not respond to any more of your arrogance and your nonsense.

Since this forum is a "hold hands and sing Kumbaya" forum, there is no "ignore" option, so I'll just skip all of your ramblings and false accusations, and correspond with people who have "intellectual honesty" and IQs above room temperature.

Good luck, Doc. You're really going to need it.

Why don't you poll the conservatives here on that defamation? Better yet, why not quit the mental masturbation and just debate? You have no idea who or what conservatives like - you sound like someone who has no more than the most idiotic leftwing anti-conservative propaganda in your head.

You guys can snivel all you want, unless Obama gets caught kicking a puppy the lineup you have couldn't beat Charles Manson for dogcatcher

More of the leftwing mass self-hypnosis - you REALLY think obozo will be re-elected??? :D  :p :) Bizarre.

Which of the current candidates can beat him?

I'll give you Romney. He could . The rest of them better hope that he does kick a puppy, or that the economy gets even worse than it is now. Even with the sour economy, the independent voters aren't going to support them.

Pepper sounds like a high school teacher or maybe a high school student who has completed his indoctrination.

I hope Obama WINS. I want the idiot to complete the "things" he has started, and start up some more taxpayer-funded bailouts and stimulus plans.

Let Obama lead this country OVER THE CLIFF!

Romney has no chance and won't be nominated. (Incidentally, want to bet on that?) Pawlenty and now probably Santorum will kick his ass if nominated.

This should be an interesting event for us political junkies:

June 13, 2011 – A New Hampshire debate, hosted by CNN.. Bachmann, Paul, Gingrich, Cain, Pawlenty, Santorum and Romney are scheduled to attend.

News of that debate somehow slipped past me. However, it is a very interesting line-up. All eyes will be on Pawlenty, Santorum and Romney as they struggle to be front runner.

Cain is a dark horse candidate that seems to getting a lot more attention.

This is a make or break event for Gingrich. If he can't gain a little traction, he is probably down for the count.

Bachmann and Paul will have to weave straw into gold to even show up in the polls. Maybe one of them can get the support of Oprah Winfrey or Rush Limbaugh both who seem to have some sort of pixie dust to elevate candidates to the Presidency.

Just to show how much Santorum is hated, google his name. The ability of someone or some group to do this bothers me, though. Santorum has no chance, as I said before, T-Paw is the best bet againsed Obama, and he is so boring he'd put god asleep-Al Gore in GOP clothing

It seems all of the current Republican candidates have a high percentage of negatives - "wouldn't vote for him under any circumstances". I really think these candidates do not know the political strategy of "staying on your talking points". That puts Santorum in the "Gingrich category".

If you don't approve of gay marriages or if you think gays are immoral and social misfits - don't talk about it! You can only loose votes. Same thing about abortion. It is a hot button issue on both sides. Why wade into those waters?

You can make a lot of people like me very angry by saying, "outlaw abortion". But it is not something that I often think about. No candidate will ever think 100% like me - I know that. A candidate should state his/her position on the half-dozen really important issues (ie, economy, federal debt, foreign wars, illegal immigration, etc), then they can gather my support.

But if you go off talking about abortion, religion, sexual orientation, and other social issues, you are going to find one hotspot that makes me angry. That includes talking like an idiot by talking about Paul Revere warning the British, or Newt Gingrich bad-mouthing Paul Ryan's bill.

You can criticize Obama's teleprompter, but it forces him to stay on message (most of the time )

I'm observing reality, and yes, that is golden.

You guys have latched onto one candidate after another since November of 2008. They are big in wingnut circles for a little while, and then you find someone else to crush on.

You are not a conservative party. You are a group of John Birch Society radicals.

The society says it is anti-totalitarian,[citation needed] particularly anti-socialist and anti-communist. It seeks to limit the powers of government and defends what it views as the original intention of the U.S. Constitution, which it believes is based on Christian principles. It opposes collectivism, including wealth redistribution, economic interventionism, socialism, communism, and fascism. In a 1983 edition of Crossfire, Congressman Larry McDonald (D-Georgia), then its newly appointed president, characterized the society as belonging to the Old Right rather than the New Right.[9]

The society opposed aspects of the civil rights movement in the 1960s because of its concerns that the movement had communists in important positions - for instance, in the latter half of 1965, the JBS produced a flyer titled “What’s Wrong With Civil Rights?”, to also be used as a newspaper advertisement.[10][11] As published, one of the answers provided by the JBS was: “For the civil rights movement in the United States, with all of its growing agitation and riots and bitterness, and insidious steps towards the appearance of a civil war, has not been infiltrated by the Communists, as you now frequently hear. It has been deliberately and almost wholly created by the Communists patiently building up to this present stage for more than forty years.”[12] The society opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, saying it was in violation of the Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution and overstepped the rights of individual states to enact laws regarding civil rights. The society is against "one world government", and has an immigration reduction view on immigration reform. It opposes the United Nations, the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA), the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), and other free trade agreements. The society argues that there is a devaluing of the U.S. Constitution in favor of political and economic globalization, and that this trend is not an accident. It cites the existence of the Security and Prosperity Partnership as evidence of a push towards a North American Union.[13] Stuart A. Wright has said, their political racism however was no different from both Republicans and Democratic politicians of the time.[14]
Characterizations

William Buckley tried to keep your type of nutball out of the Republican party. He succeeded for a long time, but that's all over now. You'll either have to change your ways, or accept that you are going the way of the Whigs.

I think Romney could beat Obama in a general election (and if I am not mistaken, recent polling shows the same). Romney does have a chance...his issue is going to be getting the nomination, which he will struggle to do.

I don't particularly like Pawlenty or Santorum myself, but I am just one vote.

Noooo....... he didn't do decently as governor. He created the first statist health system in the US and is therefore dead wrong on a very key issue. He's been pro-"gay marriage" and pro-abortion. Absolutely no comparison with Pawlenty.

He gave the people he was elected to represent what they wanted. As for the abortion issue, so what? He has stated he has had a change of heart and is pro-life now...I seem to recall another Governor doing that.. Ronald Reagan.

As for gay-marriage....I think you are wrong...I am pretty sure he opposed gay marriage as a candidate for Governor, but he supported basically equal rights for gays under the law. That is not supporting gay marriage.

Bush did that just fine himself...Obama has been trying to drag the nation back up the cliff to save it from hitting the bottom.

Ultimately this argument seems to carry no validity.

If Bush drove the country off a cliff with his spending and unemployment figures...what is it now with far greater levels of debt and far higher unemployment?
